new discovery for me..

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this unit a couple weeks ago and love it..I am at the point of my life that when I cook I have leftovers or if I food shop, I have to store items in my freezer...and end up with freezer burn...so since I now have this vacuum sealer I can store items in the freezer without problems..it is easy to use and when I buy more items then I need, I can seal them up and put them in the freezer...no worries or waste.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The machine is well made, very well designed and does exactly whaty is required I think the saving in less spoiled food will be well worth the purchase price

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this food sealer! It is easy to use and keeps food fresher, longer. It is great for freezing individual meat portions as well as casseroles and soups. The food does not form ice crystals like it does in the regular freezer bags. So no freezer burn or funny smell/taste.

This is going to be perfect for the large packages of meat I buy. Used it for some veggies and some fresh herbs so far and love it. I can only imagine there is no end to what I will be using this for in the future!

Leaves something to be desired...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have never used a vacuum sealer before, but I freeze food items all the time so was looking forward to trying this. I found the instructions vague, which leads to a learning curve.
The instructions state to ensure that you let the unit cool down in between uses to avoid over heating. I would let the unit cool for upwards of 10 min before trying it, and it still continues to melt small holes along the seal. However, these do not seem to compromise the integrity of the seal.
I sealed dry pulled pork, and had issues with getting the air out of the packages. out of 10 packets I made, I had issues with 4 of them.
Next I tried to seal pork that had a little more moisture in it, and use the paper towel method that is listed in the manual. This did not work at all, the vacuum would not work with the paper towel inside the bag as stated. I repositioned several times to no avail.

The locks are difficult to use and don't always stay locked throughout the sealing process.
I think there are tricks I might need to figure out myself given time with this sealer, but it is frustrating that the manual does not offer more details in the use of this item.

Perfect food & dry goods storage!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to package meat that was purchased in bulk. It was so easy to use and made my re-packaging almost a joy! It was also used to package personal item packages for a camping trip, again with great results.
