I love my Bissell Steam Vac, but the scented water purchase was a waste. I don't notice a difference from the scented water and using generic distilled water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this for my older Bissell steam mop which I found in the back of a closet. :-( The reason it was in the back of the closet was due to the not so pleasant smell the cloth cover would get every time I used it. I even tried mopping floors first with a great smelling cleaning product before hand just to see what might happen. Steam mop cover again smelled... gross actually. I tried different waters, distilled, purified along with tap water & smell was always the same. So, steam mop got pushed to the back & never used. I bought this solution to see if it might help, not even knowing if the steam mop still would work. This product cleaned pretty well & though there was no real citrus smell, the cloth mop cover didn't smell gross when done as it had before using plain water. Thing is, it's kind of expensive to be using in place of water. I might consider using it more it if the citrus smell actually did smell like citrus when I opened the bottle, and especially if I could smell it while steam cleaning or when I was done.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Patricia. Sorry it wasn't what you'd hoped. Since the steam is directed at the floor and this is scented water, it won't have a strong fragrance. Steam mops will sanitize your floors with the heat from the steam and the mop pads are washable, so there shouldn't be an odor. Call us if we can help at 800-237-7691.
