Holding on for dear life

I am always slapping this thing to anything metal so that I don't have to carry my gargantuan phone around in my pocket. I'm like 3 feet tall, so I'm not sure why I thought it would be a good idea to buy a Note 4 (which is the size of my thigh). Anywho, I slapped it to the side of my wife's car this afternoon while I was fixing a sprinkler head, so that I could listen to Spotify from my phone. The next thing I know, my wife has driven off with her car, with my phone still sticking to the door panel. She was on the freeway for nearly 30 minutes with that thing still clinging to the side of the car. Long story short, the magnet on this phone is over three years old, and still has the devil's grip. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

Mechanism slips inside

I bought two of these when we switched phones because I wanted to use wireless charging and couldn’t keep a magnet on the back of our phones. First thing I noticed was that the adjustment really only held the phone well if the spacers were used. But it seemed ok.
But after a short time, my wife’s wouldn’t clamp shut and would only stay open. My wife is in and out of her car all day. Since my commute is very short, I swapped with her and within another month, the other freemount had quit holding the phone also.
I can’t confirm that it isn’t user error, but for two to quit working in exactly the same manner, I’m not statisfied with the quality of this product.

I am absolutely blown away by the design, quality and concept of this entire Nite Ize phone mount system and additional accessories. In all the years I've owned mobile phones, I have never had a system that works this perfectly and is as versatile that it works everywhere you need it to! I will never even try another mounting system again because in Nite Ize I've found utter perfection in usability and the epitome of the modern design concept of form follows function, creating almost human like joints with magnets, steel balls and silicone cartilage in the highest possible quality and craftsmanship. I am hooked and will slowly but surely be adding to my growing collection of accessories! Innovation is a must in today's world, so Thank you for creating the ultimate system for my ultimate mobile phone!

Not good with vertical vents

Love their products but disappointed with this one. My Chevy truck has vertical air vents and the louvers (with the added weight of the device and phone) flops to the left and right as the vehicle turns. Also the vice grip doesn't hold with gravity working against it when I reposition the phone; it slowly slides down and falls off.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the idea, but....

I bought this last week for use in my semi truck to mount my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 in an Otterbox Commuter case. The arm suctions securely to the windshield, the magnet socket is stuck firmly to the phone case-the problem is it does NOT hold the phone while traveling down the road. Nite Ize needs to sell all of these kits with the option to swap out the original magnet socket with the tablet version for our larger encased phones.
Not happy with this situation and will probably end up throwing it away because the magnet will not hold my phone, so it's useless to me.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I was very healthy with this product at first, but after about six months time the clamp has no longer holds my phone. I am submitting under their warranty process.

This is the ONLY car mount kit worth considering. Easy to install, rugged and elegant, it works like a charm.My car just didn't have a place to put a cell phone holder without blocking some needed control or button. The Steelie changed all that.I use an iPhone 5s, and the sleek lines are important to me. The small "button" I applied to the case is unobtrusive and lets me use the phone as I always have... only better! I can now just stick the phone to the fridge or any other ferrous surface and have it conveniently in view.This really is an outstanding product!

Best Car Mount around

I never enjoyed using a phone mount in my car until this came around. This is the slickest phone mount you could ask more. The magnet is small and unobtrusive and it swivels freely. I've used this mount on many dirt roads and its never fallen off. You won't be disappointed!
