Died after 5 months of Use

This was a great product until yesterday when it died randomly in the middle of use. I never misused the product, always left it unplugged when out of use, and I’m very disappointed that it just gave out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I've had three of these now. NOT ONE has lived past the two-year warranty. (I've never registered them…) Now the latest one lasted just THREE MONTHS. I used it only for heating up water. Never misused it. This is the last Black & Decker product I will ever buy. This morning the red light didn't come on, though the coil got a little hot. When I tilted the unit, a little black dust came out.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
