I'm a no frills kind of person. 3D - Gives me headaches. Smart Functions - Hate them. Streaming Media - Who wants to watch standard definition content on a HDTV? I just hook up my Blu-ray player and receiver and I'm good to go. This television is perfect for my needs. Just calibrated and it blows away sets costing twice as much.

A Must Own for Hi-Def Lovers!

This is my first plasma TV, and I dont know why people are so gaga over LED. This plasma is has better resolution and a much better refresh rate giving the picture more vibrancy and a near blur free screen. The sound on this LG model is really good, although I do find my previous Vizio television to be better in this department.
I really like how the picture adjusts itself to the light, and the picture features I can change it to if I'm watching a movie, or a game for example.
But I just cant rave enough about the picture quality. I believe its 3,000,000:1 resolution, and the black and white levels are defined well.
I also enjoy how thin it is, so even though its 50" the TV doesnt take up that much room.
If you are really into Blu rays or sports this the TV you should get. The 1080p picture, and 600Hz refresh rate makes blu ray and sporting games look absolutely amazing. Definitely a TV for the man cave!
Go buy this immediately!

Bang for the buck

The picture on this unit is great. It is so simple and easy to work with the on screen menu. My games on PS3 look amazing. Did I mention it was a great price for 50' of high def TV. If your looking for a great unit at low cost this is the one to get.

Outstanding value in plasma TV

I did a good deal of research before purchasing my new LG plasma TV. I wanted the best value for my money and I'm thrilled so far with my purchase.
The picture quality is outstanding. My wife was blown away at a nature show that turned out to be in standard def. HD has been more than beautiful.
We love the connections. 3 HDMI ports are perfect for my family. I appreciate having the ability to play videos from a USB drive.
I've read notes that sound bars are need with this level of tv, but it hasn't been an issue at all with my family.
My biggest worry was "buyer's remorse" and realizing I bought the wrong tv. That fear is long in the past and I'm so happy with the 50PA6500!

This tv is the best value that I could find. It has excellent picture quality. There is no motion blur like on some of the led sets. The picture wizard 2 is very easy to use and provides a more accurate picture than the preset options. Overall I love this new tv!

Great Plasma but....

Great Plasma for the money!! It has a beautiful picture, the settings are easy and it does not have alot of heat like your older plasma TV's and the glare is also reduced but still there.
The only grips I have is that you only get 2 HDMI inputs and after having it for about a month there is one little dead pixel that is red in the center of the left half of the screen. I think I am the only one that notices it but can overlook it.

This is my first HD television, so I have no real basis of comparison, but it is difficult to see how one could be better. It is very clear as it comes and easy to adjust. I was surprised by the relatively low price. The full width is wonderful for travelogues and sports. For news I prefer the option of width determined by the program, since otherwise faces are sometimes too enlarged.

Ok, I originally purchased another brand same specs however, when I got to the store they sold my tv by accident so they say. They offered me the LG 50PA6500 instead which I liked the look but was bias due to having had experience with the other brand for years. Though, I have other appliance which are LG, never an entertainment piece. I took it home since I had a 30 day return policy. Let me tell you, Awesome!!! What I paid and the kind of picture, sound, look, and component selection pretty much blew what the other TV had away. I was very reluctant but glad I took it home. My friend stopped over, loved the look of the TV at first then I fired it up. All I can say they were taken away and of course assumed I paid a mint. Once I told them what I paid, off they went to buy the same model. I really don't write reviews but I feel I need to share. I've only had this about a week but so far awesome. You will not be disappointed, this TV has the look and but has the performance to back it up!
