Switching from a top freezer to a bottom freezer has added more benefits than I had expected. The fridge sections on top provide the clearest viewing of food on hand, easily organized to suit anyone's preference; items don't get lost as they sometimes did in lower realms. The adjustable door elements provide quick and easy access to those items, often requiring only a minimal opening of the door; that adds to the cost of operating efficiency. The same is true for the bottom freezer. With careful organization, usually only a portion of the freezer drawers need to be opened. Our faithful former fridge served us well for about 25 years, but this new appliance tops that design by far! Love it!
We bought this for a summer home where no service is available. The box has no frills, but it does the job for us superbly. Our electricity bills have lowered considerably even though this box is larger than our last one.
We bought this refrigerator in June and have no complaints. We previously had a all refrigerator with no freezer and thought we would miss the extra space, but we have been pleased with the amount of food we can store in it. It runs quietly and has ample space. I have recommended it to a friend when she was looking for a new refrigerator.
I bought this refrigerator to replace my last Amana, which was still working, but I didn't want to have to move it long distance to my new residence. This is the same model as my old one only bigger. I too was disappointed that it didn't come with slide out shelves like my last one. Why would they discontinue such a great feature? To save money and still charge a higher amount? I also have a difficult time opening the refrigerator door. My old one also had egg holder, and several other attachments that were standard.
I had the smaller version of this same refrigerator for several years. I loved it. It had slideout shelves and were spillproof. No so for the larger version (22 cu ft). It doesn't have slideout shelves and the refrigerator door is very difficult to open. It sticks. I bought it online, so didn't have a chance to see it in the store, but I figured it would have the same features as the smaller one, which is the same refrigerator.
