[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish the fruit & vegetable bins were bigger. Maybe a separate drawer in the middle just for two big fruit & vegetable drawers, so like a 2 door with a drawer in the middle. I like the covered butter dish & the smaller cheese/ lunch meat drawer not like a full shelf. I like that you can mover shelves. I wish it had a plastic tub in the freezer instead of the wire basket. It would be great if you could make the size 71" tall by 36" wide by 32" deep. General Electric makes one that's close to those dimensions but it's way too deep like 36" deep. I loved my Kenmore but they don't make them anymore beautiful thick glass shelves chrome large door shelves. Make it real Stainless Steel , Thanks for asking. Hopefully some day you'll make one with those dimensions & I'll buy it. Oh please keep making the freezer on the bottom drawer very handy. Thank you

TERRIBLE DISAPPOINTMENT

So disappointed!!! I ordered what I thought was a replacement for my 12 year old Amana bottom freezer. I was told it was the same fridge I had before, but no way.
The bottom fridge drawers must be pulled out, and the very bottom is not accessible because I can't bend down that low without pain in my back. TERRIBLE decision by Amana to change this to a pull out drawer instead of one that opens on the side and has side compartments, too, as my old one had. I loved that fridge and hate this one. It also has less room inside, drawers are smaller, can barely fit a bunch of celery in the vegetable drawer. This is a disaster, I am so upset that Amana pulled a fast switch on us and gave us a non accessible product.

Optional Ice Maker Problems

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought two of these refrigerators to replace two 30 year old Amana bottom-freezer refrigerators. I bought the ice maker kit specified on the Amana website (W11459724), however, it did not fit. The electrical plug for the ice maker in the refrigerator has five pins (only four used), but the ice maker kit had a 4 prong plug. Also, the electrical connection for the water solenoid did not fit
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Previous refrigerator/ freezer was 26 years old. Decided to get a new one before it broke so I could get one I wanted and not be stuck with what stores had. Smart thinking on my part. Having an older home is not conducive to today's appliance offerings unless major reconstruction was done to the house. We were restricted to depth and width. I did not want stainless, door filtration or automatic ice. It took over 3 weeks to find a model that would fit. The appliance store was great making calls to manufacturers. Refrigerator is 1" deeper than our space allows so we only lost a little bit of access to our kitchen door. The height left 1/2" space from bottom of cabinets no problem there. The appliance is wonderful everything that was on our shelves are now in the door bin. My shelves are pretty empty. It is very quiet appliance. I do wish the interior light was more recessed or further back but not a big deal. I would have preferred bins in the freezer instead of wire basket but again not a big deal. Having a drawer was more important. I did want a French door but none of them would fit. Manufacturers need to keep in mind that older homes and there are a lot out there can not accommodate the appliances available today. There are so few choices for us. I'm glad Amana still makes refrigerators that will fit in designated spaces of the 1960's era. Finding non side by side, smooth black, no auto ice, or water filtration was not easy. Thank you Amana .

Received my Amana 22 cu. ft. over two months ago. When it was first set up, I couldn't believe it was actually running because I could not hear it unless I was standing right next to it and I hear very well . It came with the ice maker installed; which works perfectly. The ice storage bin is huge and right there when the freezer door is opened. The freezer has two drawers to help make everything accessible. I live in Florida and yet, I had to raise the thermostat up on level because the upper refrigerator was too cold. Everything feels solid and the adjustable shelves are very adaptable. I am very pleased with this unit; and the price was very reasonable.
