The product works wonderfully to protect the phone from drops (or accidental throws in my case). The plastic did break on the thin strip above the pin slot but I received a replacement promptly and easily. Unfortunatley, the new case has broken in the same spot - I will again pursue a warranty replacement. I tried a modification to case #1 to see if I could live with it but did not work well (I just cut out the broken piece of plastic and trimmed the rubber back. A great product but with one small weak point

I must say I'm a bit disappointed with the case... the hard outer case broke, within 6 months. The protector screen that they give with the case doesn't work well the paper product sticks so it is next to impossible to put it onto the phone to cover the front of the phone face.
I had heard such excellent things about Otter Box products. So I was very surprised with the problems I had.
However, I must say they really do stand behind the product and were very quick at sending out a new case. I just wish I could have upgraded and went for a more durable case after this one broke.

I received an Otter Box for my iPhone as a gift. It came with rave reviews. I was thrilled as I hadn't decided which brand of case to purchase. My Otter Box was the perfect color. It was solid, fit well and gave me confidence my phone would be protected from my klutzy ways. Imagine my surprise when I suddenly noticed it was cracked and a piece had fallen off it. I was very unhappy. I knew of no accidents but obviously something had happened. I emailed OB. They immediately responded explaining how to send verification and within 2 weeks I had a new identical case. OB is an outstanding company with which to do business with confidence.

This is the third commuter case I've gotten for my iPhone 4S. I had an Otterbox for my 3GS and never had an issue with it for over 2 years, so I was eager to purchase another one for my new phone. I don't know if it's because it's a different style case or what, but this case has broken 2 separate times on me. So far the third one is doing alright, but I did drop it this weekend and there is already a nick in the plastic. I would still recommend Otterboxes to friends and family, but I wouldn't advise them to buy this style, per se.
Pros: lightweight, good protection
Cons: Not durable

I had problems getting the case to fit properly. I followed the instructions and placed the phone in the silicone case first then when I placed the hard case over it I could not get one side to "snap" into the oval slots on the silicone cover. I could get one side to fit but not the other. After getting a warranty replacement I had the same problem. The only solution was to assemble both cases and force the phone into them. I had to use a screwdriver to lift the outer edge of the phone and cover the edges.
Pros: Durable
Cons: difficult fit

Without otter box my phone would have been broken by now for sure. I have 3 otterbox's so far and I'm sure I will need another replacement soon but they just keep replacing them when they fall apart. Thank you Otterbox!!!
