Does the job

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have run this dishwasher four times. Although I haven't managed to load as many dishes as the guide suggests, it holds plenty of dishes, cutlery and drinking vessels so it takes several days for two people to fill it. It cleans well. My only criticism to date is the length of time it takes to do a normal wash. The booklet states 2 hours and 32 minutes but my machine takes 3 hours and 13 minutes. The same is true of the 'sensor' cycle. The machine is very quiet compared to my old one. It is also more attractive.

Very Unhappy

I wish I could give this thing less than one star. I had to remove the utensil holder from the door and place it on the lower shelf since the silverware never got clean when it was on the door. Not even after I had rinsed before putting in the dishwasher. The Finish all in one power ball tabs I have used for years in my previous dishwasher no do not even disolve properly in the Whirlpool, resulting in still dirty dishes. So I went to the liquid tabs and they don't make it much better. Other brands are even worse. The time of this thing is ridiculous, 2 hours and 43 minutes to just run a normal high heat cycle. If I used the dry cycle that would add about an hour more. As much as I like my other Whirlpool appliances I absolutely HATE this one!

This is an awesome dishwasher! There are different wash cycles to choose from, a heated drying function, the top rack can adjust up or down depending on how tall your items in the bottom rack are, and the utensil caddy is tucked in the door instead of taking up space in the bottom rack. It can even be removed so it's easier to load and unload the utensils. This dishwasher is also super quiet! I can barely hear it, even when standing just a few feet away. I would definitely recommend this product!

I can't tell you how much I love my Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher. It is amazingly quiet, you don't even know that it is on until you look at the lights on the front. It cleans very well also. The only thing that I would add is there is no short 'just rinse' cycle, which I was so used to with my last Whirpool which lasted 15 years.

Best dishwasher we've ever owned!

This replaced a dishwasher that was only about 5 years old. The old one was louder and not efficient. The new Whirlpool is so quiet we have to look at the panel to make sure it's on! We love the ability to have no heat/dryer and loading it is easier now that we are used to the new set-up. Our dishes are Fiestaware, so they are a bit bigger than most dishes. We adjusted the upper rack and everything fits great! We love the silverware basket in the door, although it is a bit hard to put long serving spoons under the detergent dispenser. We just lift it up and put the spoons in. Once we got used to a new "toy", it's been great. Really glad we have it and will stay with Whirlpool from now on!

Dishwasher could use some finishing touches to improve

From the first use, the ability to completely dry the dishes is marginal. Using the recommended soap and drying agent helps. Previous low end dishwasher completely dried dishes and plastic containers. Finding this dishwasher leave plastic dishes wet consistently. The silverware tray locating tabs to hang the tray on the outside front of the dishwasher are not robust to hold the tray while closing the lower rack. We prefer to hang the tray on the inside of the rack, but there is not feature to hold the tray.Pleased with the overall performance for cleaning, quietness and internal adjustments for pans and glasses.

so far, very happy

I've had this for a few weeks and the only trouble I have is that the rinse aid cover doesn't want to stay shut sometimes. I'm very happy with the amount of dishes that it holds, I am having to run it a lot less. My dishes are always clean and it seems to do well with melted cheese which has always been a problem in our old one. Also, the silverware spray gets nutella and peanut butter off the knives completely. Our silverware isn't even close to fitting in the skinny slots so the covers have to stay open at all times. We find it easier to hang the silverware on the bottom tray until it's ready to run and then it goes on the door before turning it on. The sound level is amazing. It's not silent, but we never hear it unless we concentrate. Doesn't interfere with hearing TV or conversation at all.
