[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sadly, after 16 years, we needed to replace our dishwasher. It was a Maytag (made by Whirlpool, from what I gather). Until the end, it did a darn good job of cleaning the dishes. The occasional issue but, overall, we were happy with the performance.So, when we needed a new dishwasher, I decided that the one thing I *would* like on the next model was two sprayers so that the top shelf didn't get blocked by stacking in the bottom shelf. I'm happy with that option; however, here are the issues:1 - the configuration of the top shelf is downright odd with a hill-and-valley layout. One is never sure where to put the glasses and the bowls with all that up and down.2 - MUST use a rinse aid or the glasses will not come out clean. Nor will the dishes. They get a light white film on them.3 - though I read about this in the reviews and specs ... a 3 hour wash cycle is pretty excessive!4 - the absolute worst problem and the reason we are so very disappointed is that the silverware RARELY get everything clean. At rarely, I might be stretching it. There is the option to put the rack on the door or in the front of the shelf. I've tried both. Now, I put it in the back, making sure that the little "doors" are UP and the silverware is facing the sprayer. I cannot say that this has resolved the issue but it is SLIGHTLY better.I did LOTS of research BEFORE making this purchase. I appreciate everyone who takes the time to do a review as it is very helpful. When I started having the silverware issue, I started digging a bit more and found that, in fact, this seems to be a design flaw that many are irritated with. Returning it feels too overwhelming, frankly. I mean, having the old one taken out, installing the new one ... now would have to repeat the process with all the usual scheduling issues. I should probably re-consider the return, though, if I'm going to continue to struggle with the thing. At almost $700, I really expected better performance.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

doesn't wash descent

Have to hand wash things to get them clean. Soiled things do not come clean even on the jet sprayers. Worst dishwasher we have ever had.

Great Buy

Replaced our aging dishwasher with this Whirlpool and it has been a great choice. Mostly importantly, my dishes sparkle after each cycle. It also runs quietly and looks great in my kitchen. Would highly recommend!

Super quiet performer

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Whirlpool dishwasher works quietly and gets the dishes and glasses clean. It takes twice as long as my old Whirlpool dishwasher did with the same clean dishes and glasses. I realize that the new machine uses less water and electricity in the process. The stainless steel interior is attractive, but seems to be wet long after the dishes are done.

Works flawlessly since husband installed, inc 1-hr cycle; however, disappointed that coupling to install dishwasher was not included, needed a trip to hardware store first. Also is so quiet we can hardly hear it.
