I replaced a Whirlpool gold with this since it fit the suite that I already have. I've only had it a month so its difficult to make any recommendations. The one item that is worse on the newer model is the silverware container. It fits in the door or attaches to the shelf. Either way, it is in the way and the silverware never feels clean and the container always feels in the way. If attached to the door, its very difficult to insert or remove the silverware. If on the lower tray, then it's difficult to pull out the lower tray. Also, my silverware only fits in one row of the tray so I can't use half of it. A lot of reviews say this is a very quiet almost silent. It's quiet but definitely not silent. I haven't used all of the features so I may be missing something.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We had a Whirlpool dishwasher that was 25 years old that did a good job, and we wanted to replace it with a new Whirlpool. We have not been disappointed.

I love this dishwasher! It cleans really well, has different settings that are perfect for any load, I have not had one problem out of this dishwasher *knock on wood*

After 12 years, our old Whirlpool dishwasher gave out, so we knew we wanted another one. However, as an electrician I noticed a HOT smell the first time we used it. After the circuit board was replaced (under warranty at no charge) it has worked fine so far. It has only been a few weeks since the repair or I might give it a higher rating. Very Quiet as advertised and cleans very well.
