Silence is Golden

I bought my new dishwasher about a month ago due to expiration of 2001 Kitchen Aid DW (good run, ah!). The dealer explained the crossover ownership between Kitchen Aid and Whirlpool - and since I was so happy with my last model, I look forward to the new/same dependable machine from the same company. So far I really like the features and made sure to read my manual front to back. BUT the BEST feature - that even my husband has noticed - is how quiet it is! I appreciate having a new machine that is energy efficient too. One note though, when my old machine was leaving I grab the bottom rack - why - I felt it was sturdier and also I really like the rack configuration and how it worked with my dishes. Not sure how long the rack will last but it was worth it - my new bottom rack is here in case I need it (new top rack is fine). Like that it is Made in America too! Thanks

Large capacity and quiet

We upgraded to this machine because it has a stainless steel interior which doesn't have a a plastic smell when it is hot like the one we had that had a plastic interior. After using the other one for 6 months, it still smelled up the entire kitchen with the smell of almost burning plastic. This Whirlpool is only 2 weeks old and doesn't have much of a smell at all.Other than that, the rows in the rack are configured to allow us to fit all our small dishes that have wide mouths. The old one could only hold about five of those dishes whereas this whirlpool can hold 20.This machine is so quiet I forget it's on!So far, I've only used the 1-hour cleaning option, and my dishes come out clean.The one thing I do not like about this machine is the silverware holder. Having it in the door is not a good idea nor is having it in the front of the bottom rack. And its compartments are extremely narrow. Thankfully, my old dishwasher's silverware basket fits in the new one's bottom rack.

Whirlpool Gold Dishwasher

I bought this dishwasher 6 weeks ago, so now have lived with it long enough to rate it. We were looking to replace our Kenmore Dishwasher which was 8 1/2 years old and had started to not clean so well as well as becoming increasingly noisy. So, we looked for one that did both of those tasks well. This succeeded quite on both counts. I can truly say that the dishes come out sparkling and with its stainless steel tub, suppresses the sound to the extent that you can be in the same room and hear music or carry on a conversation. Two small cons with this machine. First is that the cycles are a bit long. If you add the sani wash and heated drying, it is over 4 hours, so I tend to put it on at night. Second, and this is very small, it would be nice if there were a small basket to put small items that don't fit well in the silverware basket.

smooth and quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this over a month ago and so far I'm pretty happy with it. It runs very quiet a lot quieter than my old one. The only complaint I have is the back sprayers don't work to well. where the sprayers hit on pant is great but it doesn't get all the baked on stuff off. so I would recommend rinsing and soaking it before you put it in.

I BOUGHT THIS LAST MONTH TO REPLACE A MAYTAG. MY VERY FIRST DISHWASHER WAS A WHIRLPOOL AND I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT, REMODELED THE KITCHEN AND GOT A MAYTAG AND WAS NOT SATISFIED WITH IT FROM THE BEGINNING. HAD MY MIND MADE UP I WAS REPLACING IT WITH A WHIRLPOOL WITH A STAINLESS STEEL DRUM. AM SO VERY HAPPY I DID. MY DISHES LOOK SO MUCH CLEANER NOW.
