Our last house had a 2005 model Kenmore, just below their Elite line. It held about twice as much silverware as this dw, and came with an extra basket thing up top. The holes on the silverware basket for this unit are too small for most of our silverware, and you have to be careful how you put tall knives in it, otherwise it will block the soap dish from opening.That Kenmore (which I think are often maid by Whirlpool?) was set up better, seemed like we did not have to do dishes as often.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Silverware basket on the door was a nice feature, but I found it to betoo small. It runs very quietly which is great.I miss a pre rinse cycle, because I don't run it everyday, so I like tohave a rinse cycle. This model does not have one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wanted a dishwasher with silverware tray in the door to make more room in dishwasher. This dishwasher provided that feature and added its own dedicated jets for the silverware. In addition, it has a jets installed on the back wall for casserole dishes and a adjustable top tray. Great features. Very versatile unit. Very quiet.

This dishwasher is a replacement for a similar item that was damaged at time of installation or in transit. We have used it only once since installation but it seems to work properly and does not leak. From the time of discovery of the original purchase to replacement was several weeks of lost warranty time which was not compensated for.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was fighting the replacement of my eighteen year old dishwasher as it was continuing to operate though rather noisily. My husband finally announced we are getting a new one...this one isn't cleaning properly. Now that I have this new Whirlpool, I can't believe how quiet it is....also seems to have such a larger capacity even though it is the same size.......good design job Whirlpool...........
