Whirlpool Gold TargetClean is SpotOn

Our last dishwasher lasted eight years. A lot has changed during that time. After two weeks of online research and visiting appliance stores we narrowed it down to the Whirlpool Gold dishwasher. We love the features of this unit - stainless interior, targetclean wash cycle, roomy/open dish racks, easily adjustable upper rack, and quiet. The controls are easy to operate and the dishwasher does an excellent job cleaning dishes and glassware. I'm impressed with what Whirlpool has done in designing this unit. We are very satisfied with this purchase.

Very quiet!

I bought this unit to replace one I'd had for ages and had it installed right before the holidays. With 7 guests in the house and big meals served 3 times a day, it was nice that the capacity is large and flexible and it was so quiet I could run it at night!!

My last dishwasher, Maytag, was 26 yes old. This is an upgrade, for sure. We are unsure of the "basket cleaning" that must take place. We are a family of 2 and we pre-rinse our dishes before we put them in. For a large family with kids who don't pre-rinse their dishes might find the screen cleaning to be gross. Our Maytag tied into the disposal.This dishwasher is QUIET, nice!I like the manual, it helped to understand which mode we use.I like the adjustability of the top rack.Issues that need improvement: Our first time running the dishwasher left the provided soap bar 1\2 dissolved in the dispenser. The silverware holder is awkward to use. It has 2 placements; mounted on the front of the bottom rack or inside the bottom rack at the front. The problem is if you need use the silverware holders with the top open, it makes is awkward when putting dishes in. When I was choosing models I remember other models allowing space at the side of the bottom rack. Speaking of the bottom rack, it does not slide out smoothly.Although I mentioned some improvements, we are happy so far. We have only had the unit for a few wks and have only used it 2x's. More later.

Water Bill has Doubled

I purchased a built in dishwasher Model#WFD760SADB. Since purchasing and installing this dishwasher, my water bill has doubled. I run the dishwasher 2-3 a week as I did with my previous dishwasher, an never would have guessed that a newer energy star product would use so much water. Very disappointed with this purchase, now I am stuck with it, and have to choose between running it or loading it for 2-3 days and dealing with dishwasher odor. The one hour wash is a joke, nothing gets clean. Maybe it uses less electric but the water usage is insane. I would be shocked to know others haven't noticed a water usage increase, if I had known my expenses were going to go up, I would have stuck with my old dishwasher which was a bit loud, but contained odors much better and use a lot less water per cycle. I will say yes dishes do get clean it takes over 3 hours for a cycle of course they will get clean. I will also say it is very quiet, it has nice features to fit larger items but not worth the increased water bill by any means.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
