I Live in a 1940s home where it was impossible to fit a standard size washer in the kitchen. I came across these compact dishwashers doing research online and purchased the whirlpool dishwasher due to my previous positive experience with Whirlpool appliances. A Sunday afternoon to install the unit- and now I have a dishwasher finally after all of these years of hand washing my dishes.

It's not bad but could be better. I bought this in March of 2015. It fits a small space perfectly but I wouldn't say it's quiet compared to some other dishwashers my friends have. I can't find a detergent that seems to work well. Every brand I've tried leaves deposits on the inside. I kind of wish I would've looked around before I chose this particular one.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not wash dishes. Instead it makes a loud racket for hours and hours seemingly splashing more dirty water around. This is not a filter problem. This unit is complete garbage. After one year of use it needs to be replaced. Terribly noisy, terribly slow and worst of all it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works So Well!

This dishwasher performs so well. The dry cycle is hot leaving my dishes very dry. I always wash my dishes on the "quick cycle" to utilize more water to ensure my dishes are clean. Overall this is the best energy efficient dishwasher I've ever used. Definitely recommend hands down. I use regular dishwasher tabs by Cascade with no difficulties.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It is small but works very well at this point I did not have room for a big size dishwasher but these small dishwasher are pricey but if u have to go small give whirlpool a chance I think you well like it.

Wash cycle buttons stopped working after 13 months

We installed this model (WDF518SAFB) dishwasher in August 2017 and in September 2018, the heavy wash cycle and hour delay buttons both stopped working. Shortly thereafter, the pots and pans button stopped working. Last night, when I loaded the dishwasher and started it, I discovered the heated dry button has also stopped working (it worked the night before). Now it’s a waiting game to see what button(s) goes next, and how much longer the start button is going to last.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love the push button controls and the word whirlpool on the out side seems to work great these small appliances are expensive but I did not have room for a full size one(I had a sears dishwasher before this one never again will I buy sears everything was wrong with it) so glad to get rid of it this one looks nice and works good
