Wash cycle doesn't engage

The dishwasher adds some water periodically. It never washes. The soap is still there. It just drools down the door. Disappointed.

Necessary Components are Missing

So far, it's a decent dishwasher - though a default time of about 3 and a half hours seems a bit long.
Just be aware that when you buy this that there are necessary parts that don't come with the dishwasher, like a cable to plug into the wall? (In what world does it make sense to sell an electrical appliance without a cord? Yes, I know some people plug these into an outlet, and some connect directly to the wiring in the house. Here's a solution, Whirlpool and BestBuy, sell both. When someone clicks Add to Cart, allow them to select Connect to Outlet or Connect to wiring.)
I imagine that for people who buy appliances all the time, it seems obvious that dishwashers should come without necessary components sold separately, but for those of us who may buy one or two in their lifetimes, it isn't.
I found the diagrams in the manual hard to understand. I wound up having to have the installation service added. When they arrived, the electric cord wasn't long enough to reach my outlet. I had to buy my own and call him back. When he came back, he didn't know how to connect the cord to a standard 3-pronged plug.
If Apple ever gets into the appliance game, Whirlpool's days are numbered.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Bang for the buck 5 stars(2months of use)

A lot of reviews complain of no drying, while some loads do end up with water on the top of some items it's all about gravity if it can hold water it dries well. if a cup's bottom holds a pool of water it won't dry completely but if it is angled it dries well. Very quiet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Quiet and cleans well

Our old (10 years) Whirlpool needed replacing, we chose the same make again.
The delivery guys arrived on time, and they took away our old one.
The new dishwasher met every expectation, it's really quiet and does the job.
We installed it ourselves (Mum and Dad together)!
We'd buy the same make again.
