Great features but does not agree with my phone

I bought this earlier in the year. It will constantly say check phone if I've got it plugged into charge and it will block me from using any other feature when this is apparent. I click charge on my phone but it often asks again. I have a nexus 5x and th call function does not work, like none of th contacts will stay. It works with my boyfriend's Samsung. It's not an old phone you'd really think it would be compatible so this is disappointing. Other than those things the visuals are great and the sound is lovely... Much better than playing phone music through a reciever with static coming through.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
