Second One - Not as good

This is my second mini prep. Had the first one from early 2000. Replaced it only because the plastic bowl was not locking fully. Motor was fine. I wish I knew how much more cheaply the current one would be. The plastic bowl is thinner and not same quality. The top is a different locking device and will wear out fast, given it is a thin arm. My biggest complaint is what less quality this new one is. I use it about once a week.

I've actually had this chopper for a couple of years and have yet to have any complaints about it. It has been the best one I've ever owned without all the hastle of pulling out a bigger one and cleaning it up. I have limited counter space so this is just perfect for quick jobs or most chopping that I do. It is handy, stays sharpened, and is easy to clean up. Love it!!

I have a full size food processor I received as a gift in 1982. It still works great, but it's kind of a pain to drag out to chop an onion so I'd gotten into the habit of dicing onion or chopping garlic by hand. Time-consuming task for me. I wanted a mini food-processor and I'm so happy I found this one. Its small footprint means I can leave it out on my counter so it's always handy. It can chop an onion in seconds, from a course to a fine chop, depending on how many pulses I give it. All without shedding a tear! I just used the Grind function to turn oatmeal into oat flour for some healthy, homemade dog biscuits I'm making for my granddogs, something I never would attempted before I got this handy kitchen helper! It's a breeze to clean, too. Do yourself a favor and order this little gem. You won't regret it!

We had the prior model for maybe 10 years - it was great. After finally needing a new one - we bought this model thinking it was the same. We were surprised - and not in a good way. Metal components were now made from plastic , the parts did fit as well together and it just didn’t work as well. Frankly - it was cost optimized and sucked the quality out of what was a nice machine

Upon a recommendation from Wirecutter, we bought the Kitchenaid version. Don’t do that. Its two-part locking lid made it very hard to turn the thing on. You’ll see this problem noted if you look at its reviews thoroughly. The Cuisinart is powerful and easy to use. We should have purchased it the first time.

I bought this a couple months ago to work along side of my old DLC8 processor. I love hummus and started doing everything from scratch. Start with dry garbanzos and raw sesame seeds. Specifically, I use this small one for making tahini sauce. The combination blade that cuts and grinds works perfectly, especially when I can slowly drip oil right from the lid. It is great for chopping things like sun dried tomatoes to add into the hummus.
Big jobs call for the big processor. Small supporting roles do not work as well in the big machine, so this Mini-Prep really shines for processing small batches.
I have had my DLC8 for 30 years, only having to replace the work bowl and lid. I hope to be using this a very long time.

Having watched TV cooking shows and how the salads look I decided that my food processor could not do the job. They said the blade was sharp and it certainly was I just touch it and it gave me a mark on my finger.
So I have made several salads cuts with it and was very happy with the results. I liked the grind knife better along with the chop combination which gives the cut that one is looking for.
Thank you
I already did recommend this company to a friend. You have so many different kitchen products in your catalog.
