It's fine. It's a glass carafe, not sure why it's so expensive. I was happy to pay more for a higher quality machine, but if the carafe genuinely makes up a third of the total cost of the unit, it makes me question the quality.

Too easy to break. It broke within less than a year's moderate use. Braun used to make durable parts but not any more.

I have granite countertops. Placed it down after pouring and what an absolute mess. This product should NOT be so fragile for this price because it seems like I’ll have to buy one every year now and it’s just NOT worth it.

Carafe's seem to crack easily

While I have just read recent reviews of the carafe, and just had the same experience with mine, and I am always very careful with mine when washing it, and did not bang it up next to the sink, mine just cracked when I was washing it. When I reached to put the rinsed carage into the dish pan to dry, it barely touched a glass I had just washed and placed into the drying rack and cracked terribly. While I have been extremely happy with the quality of the brew this machine produces since purchasing it on 12/19/22, the parts seem very cheaply made. Less than 6 months after I purchased it, the plastic hook piece that holds the brew basket firmly in place broke off completely. While the machine still seemed to continue brewing just fine without the hook, I did not replace it and never complained but like others have already mentioned, it would cost more than 50% of the total purchase price to replace these two items and I am extremely disappointed in the quality of the parts produced in late model Braun coffee makers. In years past, Braun has been top notch but I guess those days have long passed and it may be time to move on and find a better brand.

A Perfect Pot

My new Braun replacement carafe is a perfect duplicate of the original carafe. Just like the original Braun carafe, the new carafe holds exactly the same amount of coffee. It's also a clear glass carafe so I can see the delicious, dark roast coffee in my Braun carafe.
My new Braun carafe has exactly the same measurements as the original carafe so I get a perfect cup of delicious dark roast coffee every time.
However, because my new Braun carafe is made of the same fragile, clear glass as the original it cracks easily when bumped against the side of the sink. I have since ordered another Braun replacement carafe to replace the replaced carafe that replaced the original Braun carafe.
I've been taking classes online to learn proper safety measures when cleaning my replacement Braun carafe. This course covers such important topics as: 1] Hot water is your friend 2] Too much dish soap can make a mess 3] Proper rinsing makes good coffee and the most important subject in this course is 4] DON"T BANG THE CARAFE ON THE SINK.
Thank you Braun for such a great carafe.

Why doesn't Braun sell a 10 cup replacement carafe

This 12-cup replacement carafe doesn't fit the older coffeemaker I have, which must be a 10-cup size. I'm disappointed that Braun doesn't sell a replacement carafe to fit my coffeemaker.

Is the Carafe safe for gas stoves?

Ive had it for a long time and its been in the store room and i finally decided to use it .I just want to know if its Heat resistant and wont break if put above a naked flame
