The designed the fan so it can not be taken apart and cleaned,
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Fan but cannot be disassembled for cleaning.

I, too, went to clean my fan when I realized the front grille does not come off. Canned air or a compressor? Really? I have a compressor and it was still hard to clean. The problem is it can be completely cleaned. Lint blows off, but then gets stuck on the grille. And the inside of the grille is impossible to get clean. Do I like the fan? Yes, it does its job. Will I buy another fan without checking it ahead of time for ease of cleaning? No.
What you've accomplished is manufacturing a fan that has, for all intents, become the example of what I don't like instead of what I do like.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Another great Holmes fan with one flaw

Holmes 20" Power Fan is powerful airflow, five blades, three speed settings, and tilt-adjustable head, carry handle. My fan is 20 yrs old. However, I used this at my work place and cannot take it apart to clean. Has to be blown out with air hose.After retirement use it in garage. I would use this fan in winter to direct air on ceiling, down walls and onto floor...thus lowering heating bill.
I would recommend this to a friend!
