Bought two of these to put in diagonal corners of my living room and it is doing the job and we are all breathing better. The only negative about this unit is they are a bit noisy. Be great if we needed white noise but the benefits outweigh the negatives for us.

Owned about a month, I got it for the low price and had Holmes before and was pleased. appears effective, though it is louder than I'd like.

Works well but noisy!

I bought this model to replace a similar/older Holmes model that had been running quietly 24 hours a day for over 6 years. You couldn't even tell that one was on when it was on the lowest setting. This new one is much louder on the lowest setting. I'm going to take it back as I have it in my den/office. I work at home full time and it's definitely a distraction in this small room. Otherwise I think it would be a good item.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
