Not good for what I wanted
on February 13, 2014

Bought because my tv speakers are on back off the unit and spoken words sound muffled. This was not much better. No owners manual or quick start up were in the box and the website is not easy to get what I wanted. I still do not have either one.
Pros: inexpensive
Cons: speaking is not very clear.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Good bang for the buck

Verified Purchase:Yes
The only drawback is with the remote. You have no way of knowing what the volume level is. Nothing appears on the TV screen.

Decent soundbar for the price
on March 22, 2016

My HDTV's sound was too low so I decided to purchase this soundbar after reading reviews online. The product is easy to install, the sound is decent and I'm generally happy with the product... except for the remote. It gradually started to be harder and harder to adjust the sound, having to angle the remote, push the buttons over and over to no avail. The trick: buying a new battery (a 5-pack is cheap on Amazon). This resolved all issues I had with this soundbar, and is why I'd recommend it.
Pros: price
Cons: the remote's battery life

Never buying another Philips product

Whenever I press the power button the soundbar just turns on for about 2 seconds and then automatically turns off. The remote is tiny and easy to lose and in addition to this there is no other way to operate the device (they literally didn't put buttons on the soundbar). To make things worse the on- site forums have similar questions without any useful answers.
Pros: good sound quality
Cons: small remote that is easy to lose, no buttons on the actual device, need to buy additional cords, remote uses a watch battery

It'll suprise you!

Seriously, it sounds perfect! I have it in my bedroom, but I could put it in the family room and it'll do the job as well!
For the price, it's a super good purchase! You could buy it for a gift or for yourself! Everyone would be happy of having it!
And finally, I have this product for 9 months and it works as good as a new one! :D
Pros: small, really good sound, sounds very, looks good, the music i-link 3.5mm port
Cons: the surround is not perfect, the remote is cheap
I would recommend this to a friend!

Remote makes this an awful product

You cannot manually adjust the sound on the speaker. The remote worked for a year and now does not work. Cannot use a universal remote. So now we have no speaker. A HUGE design flaw
Pros: sounds fine
Cons: cannot use proper

Remote broke

3 months in and the remote stopped working. Do not waste your time with this. Spend the extra $$ and get something else.
It was surprisingly good for the time being but lack of quality in the remote made this product a dud.
An remote app would make this less of a problem. Come on philps R&D team
Cons: remote stopped working

Horrible design

No way to operate the speakers manually even to turn it on or off. The remote is dead and now this is a piece of furniture.
