faulty ice maker design

We have enjoyed the roomy design of this fridge, the versatility of the inside, and the look. What we have not enjoyed is calling the repairman 4 times to come work on the ice maker. It broke within the first week of use. Two connection spur-wheels are made of poor quality plastic and didn't even produce a full bucket of ice before one of them broke. After a weeks wait the wheel was replaced. Then the water line to the ice maker began to freeze up. A line was installed but the problem persisted. Then the pull out freeze tray rails began to freeze making it impossible to pull out the tray. We had to take a blow dryer and melt the ice in the rails over and over again. Now the mechanism which sends water to the ice maker makes a noise like a ultra-light aircraft attempting to take off. Guess we will call the repairman....again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Frigidaire makes their fridges look amazing. My fridge works great for me and is just the right touch for my kitchen.

Great fridge, so-so freezer

This cabinet-depth fridge seems to accommodate as much as our prior full-size. Energy efficiency is great. The only criticisms I have are that the ice maker is situated so that cubes can easily fall behind and under the drawer. When that happens, the freezer drawer will not completely close sometimes, but it's not obvious when that happens, and then the freezer warms up, and I items will thaw. Also, the water filter for the ice maker is expensive. The sensor system gives a warning to replace the water filter every 6 months.

Interior Melted from faulty light switch!

3 year old Refrigerator. The light switch failed so the interior lights did not turn off. No fail safe activated to turn them off. Hundreds of dollars in repairs to make the fridge functional and not smell like burnt plastic. Temperature rose and all the food inside was spoiled as well. The site wont let me post pictures of the severely melted parts.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
