POOR DESIGN

THE LED LIGHTS NEVER CHANGE COLOR OR GO OFF SO THERE IS NO WAY TO KNOW THE BATTERIES ARE CHARGED. BATTERIES SUPPLIED WITH THE UNIT ARE DEFECTIVE. PLASTIC STRIP HAS BEEN REMOVED, SO THERE IS NOT AN ISSUE THAT THEY ARE NOT CHARGING.

So Far, So Good

I have had 8 of these in AAA now for about 2 weeks. I purchased them to use in my Streamlight ProTac 2AAA light so I could use it without concern of burning the batteries up and having to go out and buy another set. (Unfortunately, I dont make much money. Living paycheck to paycheck here.) So far, they seem nothing less than great. Provide blinding consistent light in the flashlight. Have yet to deplete a pair of these as my light doesn't get super heavy use. In my case, even if I had to swap them once a week it would be well worth it to save the money. Swapping them with a freshly charged set takes less than 30 seconds and I have a bright light again.
When it comes to the poor reviews other people have given these, two things (at least) need to be given consideration:
1) Sometimes you get a defective product. This happens, especially when they are mass produced. Machines fail, people make mistakes, etc. I work part time in manufacturing. It happens, I know. Believe me.
2) Longevity of the charge depends on how they are used. In low drain applications, these NiMH batteries will not last as long as a standard alkaline battery as they have lower absolute capacity. However with high drain, they will last longer. NiMH doesnt experience the same total capacity drop that a alkaline does due to their lower internal resistance So consider the application they are used for. Flashlights, especially high-lumen LEDs, are much higher drain than most would expect. Other things like video game controllers are fairly low drain, so they wont go as far in this application.
Please, before complaints are made, and even before the product is purchased, do a little research. Can save you lots of headaches ahead of time.

Ehh, Can't Tell if The Battery Works

I bought this product to use with my Speedlight flash for my camera. Because the lights stay green ALL THE TIME. I can't tell if they are charged or not. It makes it difficult when I have a large photoshoot to do and I can't adequately prep my equipment.

Great Reliable Batteries, Nifty Charger

Bought these as a package with a 4 bay charger as a power source for a project I was building using a lm317t variable voltage regulator, I decided to use a 8S configuration with a 50K linear pot. These provide the 1.5A load current in short duration that I need and with a flat discharge curve , are pretty predictable and reliable when they need recharging, even at the bottom of the discharge curve these provide the extra 2 volts to avoid the DO of the regulator.
I feel as though the charger is the star of the show here, I have a handful of four bay chargers and the PS332 is the most intuitive useful charger I have. The Device has a dual LCD with a estimated completion time, rather than a timer these poll battery statistics at interval assuring that my batteries are properly being charged at rate that leverages charge time and thermal stress really well.

I bought a set with charger included to use for wireless controllers. I didnt think to check them before throwing away the packaging but the batteries never worked at all. then i figured maybe they didnt come pre charged so i put them on the charger and still nothing. surely not something i will try and buy again. spend the extra couple dollars on a better quality battery.

I purchased this pack (mine came with 4 AA,) and an 4 pack of the same matching batteries (from Walmart.) All were so close to dead in the package they wouldn't light up the simplest flashlight. On every meter I tested them with, they were "Replace" or dead. Maybe they just need charged right? No! I've charged them for 4 hours, 11 hours (safety shutoff prevents longer,) etc. I've tried different AC outlets, even though they all worked for any other plugged in item. Zero charge to any of the 8 batteries. I've been using the silver Rayovacs for over 12 years; loved them.. I have used rechargeable before, so was not new to them. I thought the same quality would be here, but rechargeable. I was highly disappointed.
