Super easy! Light, compact. I love it!! It’s so fun to use while at home too. Charge it in the sun in your window and use it to charge your phone and lights. Sun = power ☀️

Love the simple effectiveness of the solar panel. The tips that are provided are spot on...align dot in cross hairs. The panel charges quickly to provide a ready supply of power for my phone and portable bio lite charger.

I bought this and figured I wasn't using it right, as a previous review mentioned the instructions being shoddy. I looked up the instructions, and if I'm not mistaken, this thing should charge off of stored energy, and not need the sun. It hasn't done that since my first time using it out. Now, my third time testing after studying the directions, it doesn't read the USB, and only shows battery life once every, whenever it feels like it. Still, oddly, reads and charges in sunlight. Disappointed, as I was looking forward to taking this out on the trail.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hey Ben, thanks for your feedback. You're right -- your SolarPanel 5+ should charge out using stored energy, and it should be able to charge in via a traditional power source in addition to sunlight. Trial charge of phone and recharge by sun worked well 1st time. Would give a 5 stars but instructions need improvement. For example Button and Charge Indicators are mislabeled on diagram and need to be more specific that Button needs to be pressed down once to charge device (and occasionally afterwards).

I have the biolite camp and cook stoves and it charges the blower batteries just fine. Thank you biolite for great customer service and for replacing my solar panel. Looking forward to buying more products.

I've owned the +5 for several years now and charge my I phone without any problems. It charges by bluetooth speaker faster than the wall outlet. I bought one for my son in Vegas and he has had no problems with his either. Make sure you charge it before using it.

It stopped working and I’m very upset no one has gotten back to me. I’ve purchased several biolite products and I hope this is rare occurrence and someone correct whats happen.

Nothing but frustration

I have the Panel 5+ and Panel 10. Both units do not charge my phone from the onboard battery even when it's completely full. I press the charging button while my phone is connected to either of the panels with the onboard batteries, it charges for about 2 seconds and stops. Have tried everything to no avail. Even when in direct sunlight charging my android phone constantly starts and stops charging. It's infuriating. Such a waste of hard earned money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
