For Christmas 2018 each family member got one of these small lamps and the joy was great. It is a constant companion for all kinds of activities, I always have mine with me in my small backpack. It also replaces my headlamp, if necessary, you can hang it everywhere. Just looking into the light is not very clever, it is very bright...
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have been trying this light out for roughly a couple weeks.Its been basically everywhere i go and im fairly impressed with the design and features.I even used it to shave with to see how well it would light up my bathroom.It works great! If i have one complaint,it would be what the other reviewer said bout the rubber cover for the usb ports.It is sort of tricky not to pull out the cover everytime i engage the kickstand.I fix this mostly by just holding down the cover when i move the kickstand.The Min Light other than this one flaw is a good example of how innovative and creative Biolite is.I'm looking forwards to trying out the new solar panels.

Most Versatile Light

I purchased my first Mini three years ago. Still works perfect and is the most versatile light I have ever owned. I purchased my second Mini a little over a year ago. I keep one in the car and one in my backpack. I'm getting a third here pretty soon just to have around the house I love them so much.
I own many different types of Surefire flashlights and they are far & above the best flashlights made on the planet. That said, my only wish for the Biolite Mini is that it could come waterproof and rugged, like a Surefire torch. Because these Mini's are something special.

Good extra light source but power bank no

I bought it a month ago, as an extra light source that’s awesome. However, as a power bank it seems not work, it only goes up 1 % effort my iPhone XR battery and the power is use up.

There is much to like with the PowerLight Mini: Size, brightness, varying light modes, varying attaching modes, use a backup battery for phones, etc. My only issue, and probably due to me being a bit of a Luddite, is switching between light modes. It would be excellent to have easy-to-read instructions printed on the back. It takes at least a couple of minutes of button presses to get the desired mode. Not a problem if you have the time, but if I want to set it and go, it becomes a pain. While typing this, it took at least 2 minutes to get the lantern/ dimmable mode. Single press as per the instructions only turned on the last used mode. Multiple presses ends up being a roll of the dice until I get the mode I want. Trust me, I really like the PowerLight Mini and Biolite. I just wish it was easier to use.

great light, only one flaw

I've used this light for a couple of weeks now and it's performed admirably. I am usually a headlamp carrier, but have set my headlamp completely aside to give the powerlight mini a good test. I haven't missed my headlamp yet. The powerlight mini is bright and versatile. It's not a massive lumen-throwing monster, but it's an excellent personal area light. The light is well diffused and pleasant. The clip works like a charm.
The only flaw of this light is the terrible rubber side cover that does not stay in the ports it's meant to protect. It is constantly flapping around and getting caught in the stand/clip. I'm tempted to cut it off, but it will likely tear itself off soon. This particular aspect of the design could use some more attention.

Awesome but broke fast
