Crisp, sharp print, fast, great duplex

Excellent output, very crisp, sharp text and good graphics. Takes a big electrical load when heating up and is a bit noisy, but quieter than the older HL-5470DW. There is a setting that makes it even quieter but slows it down a bit. The fuser started to go after almost 4 years on that similar older HL-5470DW and it cost more to replace the fuser and drum than a new printer, sure hope this one is longer lasting. Even set to automatic duplex (called 2-sided now) it doesn't pull the paper back through when printing a single one-sided page thus speeding the output, unlike the older model.

Race Timing System Use!

Works great with our Timing System for Drag Racing, We needed to move Printer near our System Main Computer. Able to get adapter to use excising Printer Cables. Great Product. (Please Keep These in Stock!)

Works quickly and does job efficiently. It's loud though, and the extra tray costs as much as the printer itself so I didn't buy it. It is worth the price, however and I would recommend it.

Easy set up.

Our small law office has two Brother printers and I have one at home. They take a real beating and keep on working. Cost of operation is lower by far than other printers. The oldest is now six years old and has printed tens of thousands of documents with zero problems. I recommend highly. Easy set up. Doesn't require IT person to set up.

Fast speed

Warms up while downloading the print job, then spits out the sheets--fast!
Letters print sharp, not like an inkjet. Print seems to be medium dark (still trying to get it to print darker).
I would recommend this to a friend!

This printer functions very well. I am very pleased with it. I share it with my boyfriend and he is very happy with it as well. My boyfriend has a question: How can I make printing double-sided the default without going into Properties?

Great printer

I have owned Brother printers since the HL 1040. They are work horses. I have very high volume printing needs. With the L5100DN I was pleased with the ease of the install. The set up on the net work was also made simpler. On the net work I have found that the L5100DN has a quicker first page print than the previous 5450DN. I also like the new control panel that is used on the L5100DN. It is easier to follow the new window and not have to rely on just a pattern of lights.The only issue that I have with the Brother printer line is that some Citrix programs do not carry the format through the Citrix universal print driver to the Brother driver correctly.
