This fan is beautifully and cleverly designed. The adjustable vents are a big improvement over the traditional rotating tower fan. I do wish the remote was a little more substantial and that it accepted AAA batteries instead of the harder to find flat disc type of battery. My only real complaint is that the removable intake grill piece started making a vibration noise that is quite annoying. I tightened up the 4 screws that hold it in place and that didn't help. I called the service desk and the representative didn't even know that the grill was removable and didn't know what to do about the problem. All she could offer was to replace the unit which I thought was silly for a simple, although annoying problem. So far I've discovered that if I fold a small piece of paper in half and slide it in the thin space where the grill fits into the body of the unit the noise stops. I may try to find some little rubber washers that I can put behind the grill around the screws and see what happens. If I can't fix the problem I may return it since the noise keeps me from getting to sleep.

Cons: Noisy

California Cool!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] With living in the state of California and not having central heating and air there are things that we need to do to keep ourselves and our pets nice and cool. This fan is great especially in our bedroom which is a big bedroom. We love that we can spread the air out or close the vents so that we can centralize the air onto one specific area. The fan gives out great air and the air is also cooler then a lot of the fans that we have ever used. I love that this fan has a remote control, this is great especially for the middle of the night when no one wants to get out of bed. This fan was nice and quiet for the first week. Once the second week came along if we had this fan on the highest setting there was a rattling from the side panel. if we set the fan on the second to the highest setting the rattling stops. Every other time all that the fan gives of is a quieter humming which actually has lulled both me and my husband to sleep. Overall this is a great fan. It is rather powerful and works really well. I love that there is a remote control and that the fan is basically a touch screen.
Pros: Adjustable, Durable, Good Power Output, Lightweight, Stable Base
Cons: Loud

My First Vornado

I would like to start out saying that this air circulator worked very nicely out of the box but I had issues non the less. The adjustable louvers on this circulator do a good job of altering the air flow but they do however vibrate which is quite annoying because I use this in my bed room. The removable side panel for cleaning also vibrates loudly and for these reasons I returned it and purchased the Vornado model 184 which so far is working nicely, The only moving parts are the blades I will be doing a review on this model when I have had time to use it.

Moves air like Crazy!!!

I was suspicious at first with no rotation but MAN was in surprised when I turned it on. The amount of air this can moves is amazing. Go out and try it for yourself. You will love it.

Powerful and Effective!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son's bedroom is above our garage and pretty warm during the summer months. We've used a compact fan to try to blow cool air from the hallway into his room, with moderate success. The Vornado is quite powerful and effective and cooled his room much more than the smaller (and cheaper) fan. This is a pricy, but quality fan and you definitely get what you pay for. I am super pleased with this fan!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a nice little unit, it puts out enough air to cool down one side of a room pretty well. I think it's a little noisy if you wanted to turn it up to high and try and cool down an entire big room. But compared to a big air room fan it would still be pretty quiet by comparison. The remote is a little on the cheap side, I usually have to press the power button 3 or 4 times to get it to turn off. It seems to want to change the timer when I want to power it off. The unit itself has a nice looking control layout, which makes it looks much more polished and expensive by it's appearance. I received this on a very hot week so took advantage of it immediately.
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Lightweight, Quiet
Cons: Bad/No Remote

Great tower fan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works great the only downside is the flimsy blades that direct airflow. It is more powerful than it seems, however, and distributes air nicely. The remote it comes with is kind of cheap, but they provide a battery

Much better than I anticipated

But I've had a Vornado in the family for many years and I decided to try it despite the reviews. It was a good thing that I did. When I put it together and turned it on, there was a slight noise (like gravel in a vacuum, but within 10 seconds it was finished. I've had no problems with it since. Though when I opened the box a small piece of black plastic fell out. I have no idea where it came from, and it doesn't seem to have affected the circulator.
