This my third vintage style Vornado fan. I have all 3 sizes. They really move the air due to having metal blades. Don't waste your money on anything else.

I am one of the few who believed that Dyson fans delivers. Boy was I wrong, this fan not only is a full pivot head but circulates air like nobody’s business! I am extremely pleased. along with a air conditioner, get your blanket out! Great buy!

Looks Good, Somewhat Effective, A Little Louder Than I'd Hoped

Since neither my husband nor I like central air conditioning we've relied on open windows and ceiling fans to keep our place cool in the summer. It's an open-plan triplex and it would probably take a lot to keep the place cool with central air anyway. But it does get warm and we have to close the windows when it rains, which makes the main floor, especially, really stuffy, so I thought the Air Circulator would be the perfect thing for keeping the air moving around and keeping our main living area a little cooler. It doesn't quite work for that, perhaps because our ceiling is 13 feet high. The ceiling fan has proved more effective for moving air and creating a breeze and I can't run both the ceiling fan and the air circulator in the same area because one counters out the other, so I brought the air circulator upstairs to the bedroom where the ceiling is lower. I know it's an air circulator, but I'm not entirely sure how much that differs from a fan because we still tend to use it so that it blows directly on us. Sometimes when we're not in the room I leave it directly opposite the facing wall in the hopes that by moving air around it will cool the room down, but it still gets hot in there. Admittedly, I shouldn't expect it to perform like an air conditioner. I was going to return it since it doesn't quite work for what I wanted, but I feel like we do need the air circulation in the bedroom even though I may not notice much of a difference unless it's blowing directly on us. It's noisier than I thought it would be, but more like the sound of a powerful motor and the force of the air rather than an annoyingly loud hum or racket, so it's not wholly unpleasant. When we use it at night we keep it on the lower speed and have it facing toward us and that's when it makes a big difference. I really like how it looks, so that's the other reason why I decided to keep it. I'm somewhere in the middle on recommending this air circulator. I wouldn't say "no," and some people may have different needs so it might work perfectly for them. It doesn't achieve what I'd hoped, but it's still good to have, I like how it looks, I prefer it over a big box fan and I know it will last a lot longer. Between my office and home, I have five fans and they're all Vornados.

This fan is a replacement for the smaller version Vornado. I got the larger version to move more air in my bedroom which is large. The large bedroom is no challenge for this fan. I love the quality materials and workmanship.

We recently moved into an older and poorly insulated house, after reading various reviews it made more sense to try an air circulator than any air conditioning unit or pedestal fans. We are so glad we did, the VFAN does a great job keeping us cool and the vintage look fits perfectly in our home.
