Good product but noisy

I love how well this fan circulates air in my bedroom. It's very lightweight and keeps a low profile. My only issue with it is that it frequently makes a high pitched whirring noise on any level over 50. Considering that I bought this fan specifically to help cool my bedroom during the summer nights here in California, this is a very annoying issue. It's woken me up on several occasions. So far the only solutios that have worked are: (a) keep the speed setting low, which limits how well it cools the room, or (b) keep it off at night, which defeats the purpose of having it in my bedroom.
Pros: Adjustable, Compact, Good Power Output, Stable Base
Cons: Loud, Short Power Cord

Powerful yet quiet fan

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used the Vornado Energy Smart Tower Circulator in my bedroom instead of the Honeywell fan that I have been using for the past three years. The Vornado Energy Smart Tower Circulator is a powerful yet quiet fan. I love the remote and the fact that the Vornado has 99 different speeds. The only downside to the Vornado would have to be how "touchy" the display buttons are to adjust the speed. It was almost impossible to get the settings I wanted and I found it much easier to use the remote. The Vornado Energy Smart Tower Circulator does an excellent job of circulating the air throughout the entire room. The design is sleek and modern. I would definitely purchase another Vornado in the future.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this fan for just a short time but I use it every night to sleep. I enjoy this fan for that purpose as its about as quiet as you can get and still move air around a room. Its sleek design is easy to blend into a room. Pros: * Quiet * Remote to adjust with a timer you can set in hour increments (Half hour would have been even better but its still a nice perk) * Fan has full horizontal width adjustments which can allow a wide range of settings. * Easy to assemble. * Can remove cover to clean with vacuum no filters to buy. Cons: * The base is slightly off after assembling, though its purely cosmetic and is still stable. its probably less the 1/16" off but its still a noticeable cosmetic glitch. * The second noticeable

A great way to stay cool in the summer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I absolutely love my Vornado Energy Smart Circulation Tower! I personally find it hard to sleep when I am hot, but after setting up my Vornado I have yet to have this problem. I love that I can set it to different speeds (there are 99 of them) and that I can also put it on a timer. I was also pleasantly surprised by how quiet the fan is, I often forget it is even on! The bottom line: I would definitely recommend this to a friend. (In fact I already have!) It's great for dorms, apartments, or anywhere you just need a little fresh air.

Powerful and compact! A lot of power in a tiny footprint

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My initial impression is wow, this thing can move air. The air is strong and comes out in a sheet, it can be adjusted for a narrow or wider flow. I initially thought that the fan also had an oscillating function, and if I had one complaint, the lack of that feature would be it. I'm happy when any new item I receive requires minimal effort to setup. After unboxing the fan, I had it up and running within 5 minutes and no tools are required! The packaging was well thought out and everything came securely packed within the box. The only assembly involves putting the four feet together, which should be done before attaching it to the fan for the easiest setup. I'm a big fan (no pun intended) of the design and controls on the top. I like the subtle white led back light around the controls, and the soft blue color used for the speed display. I also like the modern look of the control buttons at the top. The actual footprint of this fan is very small, considering the amount of air that it moves, I was expecting it to take up a lot more room than it does. The fan is not as noisy as I was anticipating. On full speed in a large room it is barely noticeable. I think if it was being used in a bedroom, you'd likely have to turn the speed down as it could be a little distracting in a smaller room. However compared to other fans I have used in the past, I'd say it is below average as far as noise produced. Overall if you need a modern looking fan that takes up a small amount of space and moves a ton of air in a room, this is your fan. If you're looking for a fan to oscillate, for example to use outside or to cool a few people this may not be the right one.

Absolute Necessity for my Family

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since we have received the Vornado Energy Smart Tower Circulator, my family has absolutely LOVED it! We haven't gone a day without using it, and it is probably one of the best, recent items we have in our home as of now. When it arrived, I was so nervous it would be super heavy, bulky, and gaudy. However, it was very light, has a nice sleek design, and doesn't take up much room at all. It was extremely easy to put together (just base parts to main circulator and cords!) We love the simple "touchscreen" style tapping for turning the unit on and off, and adjusting the power of the fan. We currently switch it back and forth between our living room, bedroom, and playroom. It 100% circulates the air better, faster, and cools down a room so quickly as well. I do not worry having it in the playroom with my 4 year old because Vornado had safety in mind while creating this product! There is nothing to harm my child or anyone on this circulator and it is easy for children to use and operate as well. I will mention that the air circulation noise is relatively loud, especially if you blast it high (settings for 60 to 99). It is not a problem for us with the noise because we enjoy it! We use the hum of a fan to sleep with at night anyway, and this has become an even better replacement than a regular stand up or small fan. We are sleeping so much better and the room is cooler at night because of the circulator. We go on vacation very soon and have decided to take this instead of our stand up fan!! I am extremely excited to see how it works in our beach house with the excess humidity. I am sure we will be traveling with it during other vacations instead of an awkward stand up fan. The great thing is that it comes apart easily and fits simply in our car with no issues/bending/taking up much needed room. Overall we LOVE Vornado and their products! I don't think I have ever been as satisfied with an item before this Vornado Energy Smart Tower Circulator. Five star product!!

Okay, but not what I expected

I've sworn by Vornado fans and humidifiers for decades. In fact, my fans are all decades old and still performing strongly and quietly. I purchased the NGT33DC to circulate the air in an exercise loft above my bedroom, where of course the warm air rises. Whereas Vornado's fans have a cone-shaped air-circulating profile, the circulator has a very narrow profile. It cools the immediate area a bit, but certainly not the entire space. And while the fans have a low sound, the NGT33DC has a high, whiny sound and is not at all what I would describe as quiet. Luckily, the fan-wheel on my rowing machine drowns it out when I'm rowing. So does the FM radio if I turn the sound up enough. I don't think this is an improvement on Vornado's excellent fans.

Easy to assemble, It almost blew me away

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the product for about 2 days, it took me about 4 minutes to open the box and assemble. It was super easy with out instructions (I am a guy). It took me about 20 seconds to figure out the settings and how to adjust the focus of the fan. It puts out a solid wave of air and you can focus it or widen the damper to hit a wider angle of the room. Its quiet and stable!
