External SD card difficult to access - Bad Android

This is a quality Samsung product. Unfortunately I was misinformed when I purchased it. I believed that after installing a 32 GB card, id be able to use it. You csnnot install or move apps to the external card. Also Google music and Gallery fail to recognize and cannot be directed to the external card making the tab an 8GB phone only without the phone!! To make matters worse, most apps are for phones (vertical orientation) which looks stupidly small on this large screen. I have to constantly expand the screen, slide around to read text. Typing this review is frustrating trying to get the box in just the right spot. Ugh. Should have gotten ipad mini :(
Pros: quality built
Cons: android and lack of tablet apps

Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 - great small tablet

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 is a great small tablet that provides excellent performance at a good value.
It was near-perfect out-of-the box, but unfortunately the update to Android 4.1.1 has diminished my enjoyment quite a bit. The update led to poor performance and periodic crashes. It also removed all of my desktop shortcuts and I don't like the changes to the interface.
I'm desperately hoping Samsung at least fixes the bugs soon.
Pros: performance, display quality, micro sd expandability
Cons: update to 4.1.1 is buggy

Good product, bad software update force Jellybean.

Overall I like my galaxy tab 2 7.0 wi-fi. It is an affordable and fun option for accessing the Internet and apps. But I am not happy about the fact that the 'update' to Jellybean from Ice cream sandwich is being forced upon everyone. Several good features are gone after the update like a screen shot button on the menu bar, and changes to the layout of screens and home screen apps. Also if you are used to a large easy to see notification bar at the bottom of the screen, I.e. the clock..., you will be disappointed to find it changed to a TINY bar at the top, that is almost too small to be worth having it there. But if you don't care about those features, or you are buying the tablet with jellybean already on it you wont miss them. Enjoy your tablet.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, front & rear cameras, built-in microphone
Cons: system updates change too much

Solid 7.0 Tablet

After playing with my GN10 my daughter requested her own tablet for Christmas. I chose the GT2 7.0 over the Kindle Fire HD and the Nexus 7 because of the device's expandable memory and user friendly interface. I'm very satisfied with the purchase and my daughter loves it. However, it would have been nice if the display was on par with the competition... and the battery and life isn't as good as Samsung claims.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight, sd slot, full android market
Cons: Not high def, subpar battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Tablet! Just needs better microSD card support higher pixel density for 5 stars.

This is a great tablet. It also includes an integrated infrared transmitter, which allows it to function like a higher-end universal remote, regardless of the manufacturer of your TV, receiver, cable box, and other home theater equipment. The integrated speaker is lacking however, this seems to be the norm for 7-inch tablets, which I assume are intended to be used with headphones of some kind. The two points that prevent a 5-star rating are the screen resolution (pixel density to be more precise) and the poor SD card support (microSD). This tablet includes a microSD card slot, but it doesn't allow apps and their related data to be stored on it. The Tab 2 mounts the main internal memory as an SD card. The 8gb version of the Galaxy Tab 2 only has 3.5gb of usable storage immediately after initial setup. This makes the full support of a microSD card even more important. You can add video, music, and other to a microSD card, and access files using the tablet, but almost all apps designed to be able to use an SD card for storage will not be able to use the card for storage for that app. If you have apps that store data on the tablet, they will use the main memory and not the SD card. Even apps like App2SD will not be able to use the microSD card. All apps must be installed in the main memory, which cannot be expanded. The screen, which is bright and of good quality, is not quite the pixel density I have become to expect from the better 7-inch tablets. The handful of tablets that do have better displays do so with additional cost, but after getting used to one of the higher-resolution screens, it is hard to use this tablet without wishing it had a better screen. Other than those two things, this is a great tablet for the price, and I would recommend it to anyone who to pay the bit more for a higher-resolution screen.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, integrated infrared port
Cons: Not high def, poor microsd card support, low-quality speaker

Another Innovative Technology Solution from Samsung

I bought the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 for myself and ended up donating it to my niece for school. I must say, I enjoyed it for the two months that I owned it. I don't have any cons about the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 but for Business purposes I had an excuse to upgrade to the Galaxy Note. For my niece the Galaxy Tab 2 is perfect for connecting to Projectors for school projects, entertaining friends, and seamless intergration with our Samsung Smart 3D LED HDTV's.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
