This is an awesome tablet. I went with samsung because of the reputation and my past experiences with their products. This one lives up to that. Fast performance and great features. The screen looks great, the speakers are loud, and there are good apps pre loaded. I really like the smart remote app.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Realistic color, Lightweight

Fantastic Entry Level Tablet

I feel this is a fantastic device, especially for the price. I would highly recommend it for most. However, for me I may return it, because of a very huge limitation with Ice Cream Sandwich, that for this device makes it a deal breaker for me.
While the device has a Micro SD card slot, application and application data cannot be stored there. The fact that actual applications can't be stored there makes sense. On gingerbread, this was easy to do, and very useful, but if you had a slow memory card, apps would not perform very well. It really is best to install the application on the device it self, and for general apps, the available 4 GB of memory is plenty (4 GB is unavailable to the user as this is where the OS and pre-installed apps are stored).
But many apps on older devices, would store cache or some data to the SD card if you have one. An example of this is GPS Navigation software (maps), or apps like Spotify or Google Music, for music you make available offline. These apps I believe, are coded to store such data on the SD card, if present, but it is not possible to change the location with in the app. The data is stored on the SD card in folder called Android and each app creates a folder there.
On this device, and it seems like on many other ICS devices, the available internal memory is categorized as SD Card, and the SD Card you install is called EXTSDCard. The apps then store all the cache, to the device memory, and it's not possible to redirect it.
This makes the 4 GB a very small amount of space. Therefore if you like to use Google Play Music, Spotify, Rdio, Pandora, any GPS software, and many other apps that should store their cache to external memory if present, but won't because of this design, you really need a device with more internal memory. You can always copy your mp3 files to the SD card and the apps will read them, but that defeats the purpose of using apps like Google Music Play which allows you to store music in the cloud, and make certain albums or play lists available offline since the files take up very precious internal storage.
Other than that, though, the device is very quick, has a great interface, the screen is very nice, multi-touch works perfectly.
For many people, this is a great device.
The rear camera is also very limited since it's a fixed-focus camera, so don't expect very good pictures, or the ability to use any scanning software or QR code software. The front camera is not very good, but should suffice for basic video chat.
So far no Hulu + Support, but hopefully in the future. Netflix works perfectly.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: inability to store application data to the sd card, poor rear camera
I would recommend this to a friend!

My reasons for choosing Samsung

Moderate price compared to what is available over what is delivered. I have always been impressed by the image sharpness and clearity on Samsung displays. It seems to be one of the things Samsung is known for, though I hear a lot of empty rattling from a competitor. Overall it came to weight, performance, feature full, and advanced. I looked the field over carefully, all OS and makers, to get a good unprejudiced idea of best choices. Though I could have gone cheaper. I could not have gotten better.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

This product downloads apps very fast. Have enjoyed playing games on it so far. I am going to look into download some movies and books also. If they download as well as the apps did, it shouldn't take long at all. Took a picture of what was on the screen by accident, but it looked good. I then deleted it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
