I have been trying for 4 hours to get this thing on my home network & the internet. Definitely not plug and play like the first gen GT. If I can't get this working by tomorrow morning it will be going back to the store.
I PURCHASED 2 TABLETS. 1 FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 9 AND 1 FOR MY DAUGHTER WHO IS 4. THEY HAVE BOTH BEEN SO HAPPY WITH THEM. MY OLDEST HAS FOUND NUMEROUS GAMES FOR HERSELF (BOTH ACADEMIC/EDUCATIONAL AND FUN). THE MOST SURPRISING THING WAS MY 4 YEAR OLD HAS BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL IN NAVIGATING HER WAY THROUGH ALL THE GAMES THAT WE PUT ON FOR HER. SHE IS ACTUALLY MORE SKILLED AT USING THIS THAN I AM! WOULD ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS TO EVERYONE LOOKING FOR A TABLET...ESPECIALLY FOR KIDS!
I received this device as a Father's Day gift and I can't say enough about it. I don't know where to start. If you don't believe me, go to a retailer and try it out - just spend 30 minutes on it and you'll be addicted.
I'm logging about 3 hours a day on this thing - can't get enough. It has two cameras and simple navigation along a bunch of other great features - speed, fantastic colors, design and weight. With the Android operating system I don't know why anyone would want to lock themselves into that silly proprietary ipad where you can only do and use what Apple says you can do and use. With this Samsung tablet the sky is the limit.
Some other reviewer made a complaint that the screen capture button is too close to other buttons. While that may be true I don't know who uses this feature anyway. I haven't found a use for it but who knows, maybe it will come in handy for something down the road.
Such a shame,I received this tab today and it has the WORST/WEAKEST WIFI SIGNAL and DEATH GRIP. If you cover the bottom left corner you will see how the wifi bars and signal start to disappear until you get disconnected, that being said you'd better be left-handed or get rid of this device. It is beautiful and price is not that bad....but Samsung, please, make the basic features work properly.
I bought this for my 22 year old daughter - she absolutely loves it!. We live in London, UK, and she is really smug about having such a new model that isn't out over here yet. She uses it for emails, web browsing and reading books. It is light and easy to handle (I have an ipad that is much heavier and gives me cramp in my arm). She has taken it on holiday with her and uses it standing up on the tube. The only downside is that many of the apps that are available are not compatible with that new Android version. I'm so impressed with it, I'm gonna buy myself one!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, use instead of a kindle, ideal size
I dont like the power button and volume location especially when I am holding it. The on screen keys sometimes have to be pressed firmly. Needs bigger onboard sd card.
I wanted something to use when traveling and for quick web access around the house like IMDB, sports scores, etc. I have used an iPad on many occasions and it is just too big to use comfortably. The 7" size of this tablet workes perfectly for my needs. It also has the other features I was looking for such as bluetooth and GPS. I wish it had an option to keep the display on when charging as I would like to use it as my nightstand alarm clock but there are apps I can download for that. Also I have to clear the RAM occasionally to fix sluggish performance but I'm reasonable certain that is the result of apps I have downloaded, not the tablet itself. All things considered I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone seeking a solid product at a good price.
