I LOVE my new Galaxy Tab 2 7.0! Did the research and it proved right!! Samsung is the best!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight

Good - Ideas to make it better

We own two and they run well, however, one could not be seen by the computer and the only solution is a factory reset which means all the set up time is right down the toilet. There needs to be a way to dump all they system settings and program settings onto a SD Card so it can be recovered. The other extremely annoying issue is that there are no arrow keys on the on screen keyboard. Using my fat finger to pinpoint touch the edit area in impossible.
We also have two Samsung Stratospheres and the google based programs we purchased were picked up in the initial tablet set up ... not the data on where we were.
Why can't Samsung get a camera that shoots when you click to take the shot ... that and no flash will make the camera feature worthless.

I have had my Samsung Galaxy Tab™ 2 7.0 (Wi-Fi) 8GB unit for about 4 months now. Overall I really like it. It is slim, light weight, and looks awesome. I get lots of compliments on this unit. Now I would like to point out this is my FIRST tablet, and I am still learning the ways of Android technology, so with that said here is some small items I find odd about this unit. First I notice that the screen does not always change direction when changing the unit angle. It will stay froze unless I really work it back and forth. The battery life seems OK on full charge, charging time seems long. But I can live with that. The programing installed took me a bit to figure out, and honestly I would have liked a "quick start guide". The manual really kind of left you alone to figure out how the unit works.
Now I did just get a major update from Samsung today and it is installed on my unit. I have noticed some neat changes, but have not looked into all of them yet.
Overall...for the price, it is a fun easy to use tablet. it does it all and works great. I do recommend this unit for the price minded who wants good quality and a useful dependable tablet. Thank you Samsung!!!!

It's a good little tablet

It's a nice beginner tablet for anyone who doesn't want to spend alot of money on a larger tablet. I've used mine for about 2 months now and works great for what I use it for. However, I am disappointed that it will not allow me to move apps to the external sd card.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: cannot move apps to sd card, a little sluggish at times, battery life could be longer

Just started using it - charging concerns

So far with my limited use of the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 (wi-fi only) I can say I like the unit. However, there is no documentation for how long to charge the unit before the initial use, or how long a charge cycle should be. I assumed from a phone conversation with a Samsung representative, before I bought the unit, it should be fully charged after 3 hours. After chatting with a representative I discovered the initial charge should be 6 hours. Afterward, "If you want to make sure that the unit is fully charged when it is turned off then you will need to charged it for minimum 6 hours." "As per the information available, if you are charging the unit through a wall charger then you should charge it at least for 5 - 6 hours. If you are charging the unit through a PC then you should charge it at least for 10 hours." This may be a deal breaker. It seems a bit long if you can only get 6 hours, or so, of use. That is why my rating is so low at this point. My rating may change after I use the unit for a while and not return it.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: no hdmi port, dedicated charge cable
