There is no on off button. Also the top lid melted. I’ve only had the machine a short while. It was a waste of money.

Many Presto poppers are made without an on/off switch. Your popper has been approved by Underwriters Laboratories and is within their guidelines for safety. We are sorry to hear the top melted. I’m so happy I purchased this air popper. It is a perfect size, makes perfect popcorn, and almost all goes into my large bowl. Really delicious and healthy, too. So glad I found this popper and I highly recommend it to anyone needing an air popper.

Spits more unpopped seeds out than anything. I have to tip it backwards while it pops and then still pick a bunch out. I love air popped corn but this is a pain.

Most Presto hot air poppers operate by weight. If there is not enough weight in the popping chamber, the hot air will blow out unpopped kernels.
Note: Some varieties of small and lighter weight kernel popcorn are not recommended for use with hot air poppers. Yellow popcorn tends to work well with this popper.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Granted, this is our third Orvill Redenbacher air popper, HOWEVER - the first was a wedding gift 37 years ago. That and the second one have survived several military moves, including being in Japan (needing a current adapter), and many years in GTMO. They survived LOTS of use - in that time we have raised two children who used them, AND while in GTMO used it to make popcorn for movies several nights a week (we were allowed to bring our own snacks). So, when that second one was plugged in and made a 'pop' sound with a puff of smoke, there was no doubt, and I ordered this third permutation, which I fully expect to outlast us.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed

I bought this popper July 12th and now it stops popping half-way through and I have to wait for about 20 minutes to finish popping the kernels
I only use a 1/2 cup of kernels in it

This sounds like it could be a symptom of overfilling the popping chamber - when over filled the popper can overheat, smoke, and shut itself off. When this happens, the unit will need to cool down which usually takes about 15 minutes. Be sure to use new corn on the next use. You can eliminate this from happening by filling up 1 scoop. Don’t pack the corn and be sure to level it off with a butter knife. The slightest overfill will cause the unit to overheat.
