Very nice, easy to install, quiet

Install went easy except for one design/manufacturing flaw. the drain flange and bracket are too loose and it leaked intermittently until i put a nylon compression gasket on the flange backward to center it on the gasket. This kept it from popping partially thru and appearing as if there were an internal leak.
Love the quiet operation and it looks great under the sink.

Easy install, quiet runner

I purchased the GE disposal to replace an existing unit. The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to install... it took under 30 minutes (including the reading of directions and watching a youtube video).
The second thing I noticed was how considerably quieter this unit was than the one it replaced... I thought there was something wrong at first.
My only complaint is that the water drains notably slower as well, probably more a statement of the splash guard than the unit.
All totaled, it was a couple $$ more than the alternative on the shelf, but it seems to be worth it so far.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I bought it a month ago. Installation was not as easy as advertised, but it finally docked to drain fitting after 30 minutes of trying. We are happy with its performance.

We replaced a previous GE disposal (which was still working) with this larger/heavier duty one when we replaced our kitchen countertop and sink. It does an excellent job grinding waste in very short period of time. FYI - We don't put a lot through the disposal. It was a fairly easy install but we had to do some reconfiguration of water pipes since it was larger than our previous one.

Noisy and lacks power

The disposer is noisy, much more than the old one it replaced. It slows down considerably when a sink is draining.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This worked 1 time and quit. I am very disappointed in this purchase after having my plumber install it, now it will have to be taken out to be sent somewhere. I was expecting better quality from a GE product.
