Very Quiet

This dishwasher is the best of the 4 products I purchased for my new home. The two important features I was looking for were clean dishes and quiet when running. It meets both of these requirements. The only negative I have is the finish on the exterior. As with all of the other products I purchased, it does not have any
coating on the SS and every smudge and fingerprint show. When you clean it, every streak is apparent no matter how hard you try. My daughter has SS from a different mfg. and the finish is far superior. She has young children and her appliances always look spotless. For the cost, Kitchenaid needs to step up. Their products are no longer 'top of the line' in comparison, in my opinion. I would only recommend this product because it is super quiet and cleans well, not for the upkeep.

Purchased the 404DSS about a month ago and so far its been delightful. It is extraordinary quiet. The indicator light is the only thing that gives it away. I have perhaps two suggestions for improvement. Make the indicator light a little bit more clear (is it on? drying? clean/done?). The second is the top rack--it might be my glasses but its seems a little too narrow for most of them. Maybe a little different spacing would help. Its not bad enough to complain about though.

Has some good features but not perfect

I bought this thinking Kitchen Aid was the best but I have some issues with it. The pro feature takes way too long to wash. Even with using pro heat which has a fan the dishwasher itself still has water on the walls even using the aid solution with it. The dishes come out sparkling clean but I feel that with water still on the tub sides and if any food particles remain in the washer filter this could cause bacteria to grow. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks so am not sure if this would happen. Also my dishwater was sent with a dent in the back.

dishwasher is pretty quiet..except when changing cycles. then it lets out a low groan..which is pretty annoying. other than that...the dishwasher cleans the dishes well.

Love our new dishwasher

This is my 4th kitchenaid dishwasher thru 42 years of marriage, and the very best one so far...only been using it for 10 days, but it is amazingly quiet. Our kitchen is close to the living room, and our prior dishwasher was noisy, but this tops it by far. Cleans very very well. We just updated giving our 10 year kitchenaid away ..it still worked well. Not sure about the inset control buttons....we don't have little ones around so I probably would have been fine with the controls on the front like all the others we had. Just a matter of getting used to it. And we have used one every day with pots and pans, etc. So happy we purchased this one so far!
