Inferior especially given premium price

Overall. This is not a quality. appliance. It’s loud, constantly running and produces inferior ice. And it’s expensive! I was hoping the full line of Cafe appliances would serve me well but that was a mistake regarding this ice maker.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Puts out the ice

This Fresh Ice machine is relatively quiet and rapidly fills the bin should there be a greater use of it. We really like it and would recommend it to anyone.

I don't like that you had to buy a front for it, added expense. It is loud and it makes large ice cubes. Prefer the smaller ice.

Hello jejer- We appreciate you taking the time to share your review. This particular model is a panel ready icemaker that offers gourmet clear ice. The primary flavor of a drink lasts longer when you use this ice maker's large, slow-melting, gourmet-style ice. Each distinctively clear cube has a solid, smooth texture. The ice machine is designed for quiet operation but will make some noise during the ice making cycle. During a freezing cycle, it is normal to hear the fan moving air and the water pump circulating water. Ice hitting the bin or ice in the bin can be heard during harvest. My only concern is how good does it feel, and how much ice melts because of the questionable seal

Disappointing design

Had to get a new door seal right off the bat. Getting the replacement was painless. But the replacement seal was only slightly better. Still a gap at the top.
The 'maker' itself sits so far forward it throws the ice against the door making it very noisy when it's filling the bin. The insulation is so inadequate the ice melts faster than our 12 year old SubZero (we could not justify the exorbitant price of a new SubZero). We'll make the best of it but we can't recommend this icemaker to anybody and I'm sure we'll be quietly dissatisfied for many years.

Fantastic ice maker

This ice maker makes high quality gourmet ice. The machine isn’t very noisy, and makes ice quickly. Glad I picked GE!
