A bonus to have in the kitchen

I've never had an ice machine and I'm not sure I would've chosen to have one if my builder hadn't already had it in the house. However, it is nice to have. I prefer the smaller cubes to the moon shaped ones from the refrigerator. It does seem like I just cleaned it and need to do it again, which is kind of a pain. But I can't ignore the "clean me" light that illuminates when you open the door. It is much louder than I would've expected - both the dropping of ice and the motor when it is running. We've had two guests that thought someone was breaking in our house in the middle of the night when it was unloading.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great ice maker so far

Installed ice maker over a week ago. So far very pleased! Replaces ice in unit quickly. Love the led lighting. Only negative when dispensing ice when unit is empty or low is it is loud.
I would recommend this to a friend!

large ice cubes

I had the same ice maker a few years ago and it made much smaller cubes. This one has much larger cubes which makes too loud a noise when they fall into the bin. Cubes are clear and they are made fast enough.
I would recommend this to a friend!

DO NOT purchase this product unless you’re putting it in an outside kitchen or separate bar area. My house is an open floor plan and this ice maker is at our wet bar in our living room. This device has woken up my children on MULTIPLE occasions bc of the loud noise. The ice hits the front, plastic part of the door and is VERY annoying. Can’t wait to replace it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Better QC needed

So far good machine. Making ice like it should. Two issues
1) the leveling feet were screwed in to the bushings too tight. When unscrewing one of the feet, the knurled nut spun free making it useless. I had to shim that leg.
2) the protective plastic over the stainless panels goes completely around the corners into the joints between panels. When peeling it off you leave ugly scraps in all joints. I disassembled all the skins to peel it all out, but that’s a lot to ask a homeowner to do.

Plentiful ice

We are loving this ice maker— the ice stays frozen in drinks and in coolers longer than typical ice. The noise from the maker is minimal and not bothersome—

Great icemaker

Working great so far - have had for two weeks. Seems to be built for GE by Scotsman. My last Scotsman icemakers required cleaning every month or so. Anxious to see how this one does, and if it is any different.

The product is in no way what I expected. It's LOUD, constantly running and the quality of the ice is absolutely inferior. The supposed large cubes come out in anything but uniform size and hardness.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
