Just an Ice Chest

To loud and lots of water usage. Needed 15 inches and this was all they had to match. Thought we would love an ice maker. Not an ice maker like your freezer. Just an ice chest. Don’t buy. Ice falls on hardwood floor when you open. PS. LOVE ALL MY OYHER GE CAFE APPLIANCES!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We understand that loud noises or ice falling onto your floor can be frustrating, and this is not the experience we wish for our consumers to have.
There are many sounds an Ice maker will make during a freezing cycle. These sounds are normal, and may include a fan blowing, dripping sounds, other water sounds, and ice can be heard falling into the bin during harvest.
If ice is consistently falling onto your floor when you open the door, we recommend taking advantage of your warranty by scheduling service. You can do so by calling 1-800-432-2737 or by visiting this webpage: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

So Loud

We owned the prior GE undercounted ice maker that was discontinued) for 14 years. I cleaned it regularly and never had one problem with it. In it's final days, the GE repair man said that was an anomaly. Fast forward, we have this very expensive ice maker installed and the "top hat" cubes sound like cue balls dropping. You can hear it from all over the house. But the worst part was when I discovered (bent down low enough to see) mold all the plastic parts and it was even on the sides and interior door. That was about 2 months after we got it. We NEVER had mold on our old one. I have to clean with bleach every week or so. Hope we don't get sick.......

Great Little Ice Maker

So far so good. It was easy to hookup and the ice maker filled up the reservoir in no time. Now we just need to see about the unit’s reliability for the long term.

Horribly loud, poor ice scoop rest, ice cubes size is too large for narrow glasses and water bottles

Great ice but

When it is making ice properly the ice is great. However it too often makes bad ice and I feel I have to descale it way too often. Even after descaling it can be intermittent gods then bad.
It also does not stop. We have to monitor it and turn it off manually. I would assume it would have some sensor to prevent it from overflowing

Makes good ice!

Never had an icemaker that didn't freeze ice into one massive chunk after a bit....until now! I love this thing. Had a little bit of a learning curve the first couple of days, but that was on me for not fully understanding how it is designed to work. Working great now. Love always having enough non-clumped ice!
I would recommend this to a friend!

We HATE It!!!

Thought I was getting the same Monogram product I have had for years. The large odd shaped cubes are awful. Water spews out of the glass when it contacts the the cupped shaped cubes. We are considering putting it on E Bay and getting something else.
