4yrs old and already need to replace it. Frint of the machine started to rust, and it is a very noisey machine.

If there were negative stars I would rate it a -10. Freezer constantly frosting over, replaced several parts and had it worked on several times in an effort to trouble shoot the problem and nothing has worked. Garbage product would not recommend to anyone.

Wildly inconsistent temperature, mostly unusable

The water dispenser failed 3 months in (still getting ice), and the temperature is inconsistent throughout the interior. I had to set the fridge to 39 because the default 37 causes 70% of the fridge to be below freezing. I set 4 thermometers inside to verify: top shelf under the water filter (1), top shelf toward the front (opposite corner)(2), climate zone drawer (3), and bottom full width drawer (4). T1 is at 44.2, T2 is 38.6, T3 is 33.4, and T4 is 21.2. The fridge is full except the full width drawer because it freezes everything. Airflow around contents is normal and not blocking any areas. The blower does not run constantly so I don’t believe the thermostat is faulty or that there’s a problem with door seal. We have had a nontrivial amount of food spoil or freeze. Minor gripes: the external control panel does not use backlighting so the controls are illegible except in bright sunlight (gray text on a gray panel). You’ll have to memorize the location of the water, cubed, and normal ice locations for nighttime use or illuminate it with your phone. I know…1st world problems. I’m calling for warranty service and will update or write another review afterwards.

I like my new refrigerator, but it is making a whistling and sometimes grinding kind of noise. I have contacted GE service department and am waiting to hear back from them. The noise is really irritating, but I am sure that once the repair people finally show, the problem will be resolved,

Cheap Styrofoam and plastic parts.

Granted everything today is manufactured with cheaper plastics and Styrofoam etc. The bottom door handle is badly engineered and will fall off repeatedly...nevertheless, the lack of info online or access to any technical manuals is frustrating. Granted I'm more a fan of trad fridges without freezer on bottom, and at this point though, will forgo french door fridges entirely. Mine no longer cools, oly lasted 4 years. Tested the relay, capacitor, yet even the condenser is running, along with fans, and damper is open yet no longer cools...and wasted a grand on food. I'm guessing it may be a cheap thermisistor, but don't think it's worth taking apart anymore plastic and foam to fin where it's at...it's a rare model apparently. Many similar but notexact models. By the time and expense to repair such cheap parts, I'm prolly better off getting a new cheap fridge. 20yrs of renting and never had an appliance break down or one I couldn't fix. Now, my 1st home and every ge appliance is no longer working within 4yrs.
