Makes a lot of noise!

The loudest refrigerator we have ever owned. Gunts, groans, and whirls are loud and constant. We have an open concept house and just replaced a 10-year old GE with this newer model. I wish I had the old unit back. Not recommended for an open concept layout. Also the design is just average. The adjustable shelf which adjusts to half-depth was not useful. We removed it because it was more in the way than helpful.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If it helps, you may also like to know hard surfaces such as ceramic tile, vinyl or hard wood floors, walls and kitchen cabinets may make these operating sounds more noticeable. As a result, certain sounds may be unfamiliar on a new refrigerator at first. These sounds are normal and are usually an indication that the refrigerator is operating properly.
With that said, we're beyond grateful for your loyalty to us and we happy to still have you in the GEA family.

Bought this to replace an older version of the same model that we had bought used. Good, sturdy, dependable. Only complaint is that if you're not careful, the right hand door will not close completely. But once you're used to paying attention to that, there is not problem.

This GE is feature rich, ergonomic, great lighting and capacity. Temps are stable and it's similar noise to other models I've owned.

So far, I love my refrigerator, but it has only been a few weeks. It is roomy and has options to move about the shelves. Freezer is super convenient and cold. The ice maker is awesome and you can remove the interior bin. My only complaint is that after I get water from the dispenser it drips and there’s no catch for the water.
