Great Fridge

I love the refrigerator. The only thing I dont like about it is that you cant move the shelves much to create more room and the ice makes a mess when you try to put a normal tumbler under the dispensor.

You can easily see everything in the refrigerator. The freezer is also very accessible.

We needed a reliable replacement refrigerator and we’re lucky enough to find this one. Slightly different in size that the previous unit, this rolled easily into its recess. I was surprised at how quickly it cooled off and how much space we now have.

Warm Refrigerator - Both original and replacement

We have had 2 units of this model. Both FAILED to keep the refrigerator area anywhere near the set point. I've set the refer to 34* and the top shelf barely holds 40* at night and any with any use maybe 42*. Lower shelves are marginally better but not consistently so. Basically we've gone 3 months without a reliable refrigerator. Cold water dispenser is not really cold either and gets warm with only a single glass dispensed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi there, and thanks for letting us know about the issue you’ve had with your refrigerator not getting cool enough. We truly hate to hear about this, and know it must have caused frustration, especially when you had the same trouble with a former unit. This isn’t the quality ownership experience we want for you, and we’d like to assist.
We anticipate a normal temperature range between 34-42 degrees Fahrenheit in the fresh food section. As the refrigerator isn’t maintaining the desired temperature, you may want to make sure the controls have been set to the temperature you want - information on setting the temperature is available on page 10 of the Use and Care manual, linked here: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-1000472-2.pdf . Making sure the door is able to close completely with no gaps or kinks in the gasket may help with maintaining the temperature, as will making sure the refrigerator has an adequate food load. We have additional troubleshooting details in the manual (including tips for warm water being dispensed), starting on page 43.
After reviewing our system, we do see you had a case assigned to you when you previously called for service. We have updated that case with the information you’ve provided here. If you are unable to resolve your concern, we recommend reaching out to our Service Department at 1-800-432-2737. We are confident a technician would be able to assist with diagnosing and repairing the refrigerator.

Headache

This has honestly been the worst fridge I have ever owned. It’s 7 months old. We have nothing but trouble with it. Storage space sucks. Freezer handle broke the first week. Ice machine doesn’t put out ice like it should. Replaced water filter and now nether water or ice will come out. Now we woke up to water on the floor. Freezer thawed out everything so we are out a lot of money. We had our house built and this was the appliances we got stuck with not just choice. I would not recommend this fridge to anyone.

We replaced an older GE side by side with this unit and couldn't be happier. This unit provides almost double the storage with minimal footprint increase. Very quiet while operating.
