Great features offered everything I wanted

I think I got a lemon! Just moved into a brand new home with all appliances; GE microwave, dishwasher and stove are perfect and have top preformances. The refrigerator worked great for the first year and a half. Then terrible noises started and the freezer quit. Three different service people have been here and replaced different parts and it still does not freeze, make ice etc, My daughter has the same one with No problems and loves hers.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A lot good, a couple of serious design issues

Overall a good product and I like a lot of things about the frig. Overall, the frig looks good and the door ice maker does a good job keeping up with our ice use. Comparing our previous frig, an LG, the fit and finish of the GE does not match the LG. In particular, the drawers don't roll out smooth and easy., the door bins on the ice maker side are not as functional, and the shelf adjustment is limited. There are two things about this frig that really are serious problems as I see it. In fact one of these things, had I been able to check out the unit, would have kept me from buying this model.
The adjustment in shelving height is very limited. There are only a couple of shelf positions that are allowed in this frig. The problem is, most drink containers are higher than the frig allows to adjust shelf height. To address this, the frig has a shelf that is above the bottom shelf that can slide back into a half shelf configuration to allow for the height of drink containers. So if you have a lot of high containers as I do, it fills up the front half of the bottom shelf and you don't have easy access to the room behind the containers. If you try to move the shelf above to a higher position, it eliminates the use of that shelf entirely since it lies immediately below the top shelf with no room to fit any containers in-between.
The second issue, the door bins on the icemaker side of the frig are extremely small and instead of being rectangles, they angle to the edge making portions of these bins unusable.

This fridge and freezer both have adequate space and it looks nice. However, the inner freezer drawer doesn't roll smoothly so it always sounds terrible as it pulls out and the outer freezer door handle falls off regularly. One of the french doors closes on us if we aren't actively holding it open. Nuisances, but not deal breakers.
My biggest gripe is the poor design of the in-door water and ice dispenser. Ice and ice chips spray out onto the floor because it is not designed for cups to go around the dispenser. Instead they have to be held at an odd angle underneath. In addition, the pad that needs to be pressed to dispense water is tough to press and just far enough away from the actual water dispenser spout that, if you aren't careful every time, water also misses the cup and ends up spraying every where.
We had a Frigidaire model with a similar design and went with a different brand hoping for better results. Until GE changes this configuration, we won't be repeating this purchase or recommending this model.
