Compressor too loud

The high efficiency compressor on this model is way too loud. Constantly running and making a pulsating sound. Will be returning for this reason.

Hi, Thanks for sharing your concern and giving us a chance to help. We're sorry for any inconvenience with the sound level. The foam insulation used in new refrigerators has excellent insulating capabilities and is very energy efficient, however it is not as sound absorbent as previously used fiberglass insulation. Depending on the placement of the refrigerator in your kitchen, you may want to place a piece of rubber backed carpet beneath the refrigerator to help reduce the compressor and other sounds. Satisfied with the refrigerator but disappointed that there is no drip tray under the water/ice unit and the bottom drawer is full width so both doors need to be opened to access the drawer.

I got a dud

This is a very attractive fridge and I like its design but my freezer is like a solid block of ice and the refrigerator part does not cool at all. I have a service call in to fix/replace. Everything in top spoils and everything in freezer has snow all over it and is way too cold - even though I adjusted settings to recommended temps. Sorry GE - you need to fix mine to get a good review. Until that happens - thumbs down.
