A very solid, beautifully designed piece. It has everything I wanted at a reasonable price point. The fingerprint resistant finish was a HUGE perk as well.

Looks good inside and out, but functionality is not as good as previous side-by-side we owned. Freezer design and access is very good. Upper level section awkward to use as use of drawers requires opening both external drawers fully. Also, ice maker capacity is small and ice cube generation is very slow. Finally, it is a much noisier unit than the side-by-side we had before. The circulating fan is noisy and the compressor is a constant background noise. Disappointing.

Depending on the placement of the refrigerator in your kitchen, you may want to place a piece of rubber backed carpet beneath the refrigerator and/or mount acoustic tiling or other sound absorbing material around the refrigerator's enclosure to help reduce proliferation of these sounds. Looks and works great.

My new appliances were installed almost one month ago. The fridge is great. Controls are easy to use and understand. The icemaker is quiet (unlike others I've had). The outside of the doors is soooo easy to keep clean. No need to worry about oily fingerprints on this model. Like I said, I've only had it for a month minus a couple of days but it still looks like new and works great. Thanks GE!

Poor Design

For the most part this refrigerator is excellent. However what it does poorly affects my family every single day. This unit has the smallest ice maker bin I have ever seen. I can only get enough I've for 2 large cups twice a day, nothing more. My family drinks lots of water, we have filtered water on tap and as it is unrefrigerated we require ice. I am so disappointed that in Florida I have to buy bags of ice in order to have child, refreshing, delicious ice water to drink. I wish I had known. Otherwise, the fridge is adequate.
