Great space design, rough ice maker

When we went refrigerator shopping we brought with us a pizza box. It seems a lot of side by side and bottom freezer designs forgot about this American staple! I’m glad to say this model was up to the task. Generally the usable space is great.
The major flaw with this model is the in-door ice bin and dispenser. The freeze/thaw cycle guarantees that there will be a frozen block of cubes trapped in the bin. Not a completely unusual problem, but it’s exasperated by the difficulty in accessing the bin. It’s clamped behind a latching door and then cumbersome to remove afterward. This alone would keep me from recommending this model.

The bottom freezer

We talked to many friends about what features they like in newer refrigerators and most did not like the bottom freezers. We just love that feature in our new GE refrigerator.
