The features and layout of this appliance are great. The retractable shelf is an especially handy touch. Overall, the unit feels very spacious and light inside, even though we knowingly purchase a unit with slightly less capacity than our prior refrigerator.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have never had a refrigerator that runs like this one. The noise coming from the unit is significantly louder than anything I have ever heard . We complained and the service tech that showed up told us that this is normal operation. If this is the best GE can do I will not be recommending anyone to buy your appliances.
As I write this all I hear is a motor noise going up and down continuously.

The refrigerator is attractive and quite functional with lots of space. I've read of the unit producing noises and concur there are some unusual noises but nothing to warant looking elsewhere.

Love the fridge! Was worried about the “noise” complaints. It is louder than our last fridge but that’s because the fan on the side for the ice maker/ water feature. I don’t notice it much but could be an issue for someone who likes it very quite.

Love this refrigerator. While I usually can really pack a refrigerator full, so far I have filled it up nicely and usually have room left. I am still learning how to use the spaces more efficiently. The titles on the water & ice dispensing area are hard to read but if you hold something underneath to create a shadow of sorts, the words then stand out.

We've only had it for about 2½ weeks and really it like it for the most part.
For some reason it is very, very loud. Our 17 year old refrigerator that it replaced was much quieter than this.
The loudness is our only dislike as of now.

We bought this brand new and it was installed in our new home in April. The water and ice dispenser does not work and we are a month in and have have a tech come out three different times and it's still not working. The tech has been great but we would not recommend this product.
