My growing family needs the large capacity. Also with two kids under 6 years old, the locking feature on the water/ice control pad is VERY helpful to keep little hands from flooding the kitchen! The French doors are great for putting in casserole dishes and pizza boxes.

High pitched noise

The refrigerator looked good and had all the features I needed - exterior water/ice, in-door ice, fingerprint resistance stainless. However I returned it. The refrigerator makes a high-pitched hum, 4-5 hours in the morning and then on and off all day. The sound was comparable to an old LED lightbulb. The GE service tech explained this is normal for this model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We love that we can adjust the shelf for tall items. We also love the space that it has vs our old side by side. It's also easy to keep clean on the outside! Great purchase!

This is my first refrigerator with the bottom freezer. It holds more plus it is so easy to find what I am looking for and boy do I like the french doors - and I love the fact that the icemaker makes crushed ice.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Off to bad start

Delivery team scratched the paint on door. Refrigerator will not go to 37 F.(Factory recommended) Will not go below 43 F. Set temperature on 34 F and it will go 39 F, no lower. Product Rep has checked it and says operating as designed. When running it makes a lot of noise. Glad bedroom on other end of house. Must learn to live with it.
