Had we known specifics of how this refrigerator worked we wouldn't have bought it. The selves do not slide very well in the refrigerator top half. The freezer door does not open smoothly, and feels like its stuck. The doors on the refrigerator do not stay open correctly. Most importantly this refrigerator is very noisy and we can hear it from the living room.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We purchased a GE Frenchdoor refrigerator in July. It has a few aspects that are disappointing: The storage shelves in the left door is too narrow to store most bottles and containers; The panel for ice and water is barely legible; the drawers feel very flimsy; You have to open both doors to access the crisper drawers. I had spinach freeze in the vegetable drawer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Fridge!!!

We love this fridge! We went from a side by side to this GE. We love the room it has and the ease of use. We love how you can see everything when opening the doors. They only downfall I could see is the ice maker is kind of small, but we just dump it into a container and keep it in the freezer.

We loved the color, which is virtually unique to G.E. We now love the automatic ice and water dispenser, since we didn't have one on the unit we replaced.
